In a Laker season devoid of interest and good play, I found some measure of basketball Thanksgiving cheer this morning in hearing Frank DeFord's 3.5 minute Thanksgiving serenade to the Spurs.
Yeah, OK, the old guy guy does his usual over-the-top, pull-the-heartstrings kinda thing here, but somehow, he's on the money more than not. I wish the the Spurs were ours. This year, they kinda are. I'm rooting for them.

So am I.
My nephew is a Spurs fan. He and I usually burn each's cells up during the season. I told him I was rooting for the Spurs to tone him down.
I was rooting for them anyway, I just didn't tell him.
