Kobe and Boozer prefer slower tempo. Pretty much everyone else wants to play fast. What to do?

I feel that is the reason for the stagnant offense at times. How can Byron balance this out?

We're the worst team in terms of 3 point shooting, we're over 10 points below 30%. Let that sink in for a second. Playing a half-court set isn't going to create open looks. Teams are just going to sag, and let the Lakers work for their points. Jeremy Lin (and Wayne Ellington to a lesser extent) are the only guys who are legitimate threats to drain three balls in order to create spacing. Also, look at the make up of our team. We're made more of athletes than basketball players, so put them to use. There are younger legs, and the old methodical way of scoring isn't going to work.

Play fast.

When you have less overall talent you stand the best chance by making a olay before the defense sets up.

Our rotations just have no balance. It stems from Boozer/Hill, IMO. Lin can't play off of them because they don't move well and can't set screens and their hands are made of stone. With their issues, Kobe has to do more, and Wes is forced to try to do offense and we all know how that turns out. Davis needs to start, or Kelly when he gets back.

Hey great idea! Maybe we should fire Byron and hire D'Antoni. I hear he was pretty famous for his 7 seconds or less offense in Phoenix!

Oh wait...

Are we really still attempting to fix something that isn't broken? When a mechanic wants to build a 10 second car they don't put a 3.5 cylinder engine under the hood. This team is doing exactly what it was built to do and nothing more.

Try to build a lead with the young, athletic lineups. Then as the game gradually reaches the latter stages of the 2nd half, when the pace typically slows, play the vets more?

Duncan, Manu, Park, are old too, the spurs play fast because pop realized that playing easy and fast tempo offensive basketball make their old legs easier than banging in the stagnant half set defensive basketball...
that was how Spurs evolved, from a defensive team to an offensive team...
Byron does not have the vision and IQ to think through it.

This is the truth, half court slow basketball can only work if we can take advantage of mis-matches which is tough because of our roster. We need to run and hustle to have a fighters chance to win games.

The team has to play faster in the half-court sets. An uptempo game helps old knees.
