You especially miss Chick in the bad years. He had a way of keeping the games enjoyable no matter the play while still providing an objective view of how much we stink.
I grew up with three of the biggest icons in their respective sports: Vin Scully, Bob Miller, and Chick Hearn. Listening to Chick was like experiencing a latest box office hit in a surround sound system. Now it's Charlie Chaplin.
Late Happy Birthday to Chick from Singapore. Next to Kobe, who inspired me to play basketball, you are the one who always speaks out bonus with interest.

Chick was indeed the greatest, especially on radio. I can't count the number of times I listened to Chick's call of the game while stuck in traffic on the way home from work. With Chick I would always know the score and the current game situation.

Totally agree. We have a terrible team, and a terrible crew announcing it. Makes Laker games almost unwatchable at times!!
