Well its a week from Christmas and it's not the Christmas season without the best Christmas song ever. A Fairytale of New York by the Pogue and the great Kirsty McColl.

I've never been a fan of the Pogues, but arguing about taste in music is akin to arguing about politics or religion.

In any event, besides the traditional Christmas songs, I like this song, "Christmas Must Be Tonight," by The Band. Robertson supposedly wrote it, well, because of course he did. Anyway, here's a link.

After a disastrous time putting up a tree that was 30 degrees off, never getting a real tree again. Unfortunately at Home Depot, they're wrapped up so we couldn't really get a good look at it. The tree literally is bent 1/3 of the way up. I want to chop it up every time I stare at it.

Don't get it. Home Depot's trees are wrapped up but you can open them up to view them. So I'm kind of confused how/why you didn't do that.

And yes, it's Noble fir because the branches and leaves are overall fuller.

Oh, I also purchased the stand from HD. You could buy the plastic one but there is one stand that's really nice.

It has a plastic piece at the bottom, and you connect it to the tree with two screws. It makes it perfectly straight (assuming they cut the tree at a good angle), and takes seconds to correctly mount it. Tightening up the screws are real quick to boot.

It was dark and there were several other families breathing down the neck of the guy helping us. That plus two screaming nieces running around = had to get the flock outta there.
