One of best songs EVER
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_DHRGrIqmb0

Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Some day, yeah
We'll get it together and we'll get it all done
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna be easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get be brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna be easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get be brighter

Some day, yeah
We'll get it together and we'll get it all done
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
Some day, yeah
We'll get it together and we'll get it all done
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Ooh-oo child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh-oo child
Things'll get brighter
Right now, right now
(You just wait and see how things are gonna be)

Great thing about being old school is that I enjoyed both of these songs when they were released.

There was a 1979 teen flick called Over The Edge that had an alt version by Valerie Carter at the end credits. Very pretty voice, but also very late 70s production qualities. Saw that movie for the first time a couple years ago after reading The Pumpkins modeled their "1979" video after it. It was also supposedly a favorite of a middle school aged Kurt Cobain. It's pretty obvious that John Singleton borrowed the idea of "Ooh, Child" playing over a clip of bad boys being lead out in cuffs from that'n.

This song always reminds of when Furious was teaching Trey on how to be a man.

Just jamming this song again.. with hope for a brighter day...

Awesome that "Trey" was the boys name.

As Trevor is the boy in Pay It Forward

Don't care for the song personally, and if I was in my car an clicked by K-EARTH and it was on, I would swiftly change the channel.

I've always been attracted to more testosterone-driven music, you know, bands like Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Hendrix, Chameleons, Cure, Joy Division.

When in the mood for mellow stuff, I always go with Reggae or Classical or maybe even some Trespassers William:

Read the lyrics, look at the mood of the world today, the song could not be more apropos. Way before it's time.
