Nobody thinks Kobe is tough though. Thats the thing. No one in the league is scared of Kobe in a physical way because most of them are from tougher areas and upbringings. Thats why its so funny Lin is scared/intimated by Kobe. Im surprised no one has tried to body slam Kobe since Reggie Miller did it. Kob's a tough player but he aint no tough guy.....guys need to bark back at him

He didn't threaten them.with physical violence did he? Is that what leaders do?

There's really nothing kobe can say or do right now to turn this current roster into a winning team. Whatever 'motivational tools' he employs right now are strictly for giggles and to say 'I tried.'

If Kobe was really interested in playing for a winning team, he'd have asked for $8 or $9 mil per instead of $24.

Ha. Kobe would win. He'd just go old man style on Lin and post him up every time.

Jesus, is Kobe thinking the organization wants to win?

I may have to assign one of the Tank Commanders (I am a Tank General) to fill him in on his mission.

Kobe would just camp out in the post.

And on defense, Kobe would just back off him and let him shoot jumpers.

With post play being higher %, I'd give the edge to Kobe there. Why Lin, just curious?

that's the thing. Kobe is a 1 on 1 player. Lin is a facilitating PG. Kobe thinks everybody should play like him. but that's not winning basketball

The only man to ever score more pts than Kobe was force fed the ball all night and the first and second string defenders were both out.

Tadpoles? Argh, I just really dislike that mindset. It's like, anyone who comes to play with Kobe is a tadpole.

I don't think Kobe even really feels that way.

I am just really irritated at people who trash on Kobe any chance they get. My response was out of emotion to someone ignoring Kobe's legacy as a Laker. Kobe even had to go on tirades to motivate Snaq O'meal before.

LOL. if only they'd let them do that for real games. Lin and Kobe captains of their respective teams gets to pick their teammates ala playground basketball and each having complete control of how their team plays during real games. then see which team performs better.. the 1st or 2nd unit. hell, they have nothing to lose. can only dream lol

I got you. You'd probably get irritated with me although I'd say there is a distinction between trashing Kobe and criticizing Kobe. I'd like to think I'm the latter though I'm well aware it comes with the territory that criticizing can (and is) perceived as trashing.

One of the things that came out of that Abbott article is that no matter how hard you work, no matter how well you play, no matter what great things you do on the court, it'll never be enough when you have Kobe Bryant on your team.

And I think there is truth to that. But it's unfair to Kobe. I don't think he is the one that creates that perception. It's us, the fans and the media that do that. Because since Shaq has left, no one has ever been good enough for us.

And meanwhile the real team (Lakers) sucks....

Well yeah but that's not going to help Lin stop Kobe backing him down in the low post. Easy layup for Kobe.

Lin won't be able to post up Kobe, and sure, Kobe can't keep up with Lin in terms of speed, so he'll back off him on defense and he'll shoot jumpers.

If you set the restriction that shots have to be taken outside of the key, I'd still give it to Kobe. Better shooter.

Kobe is slow and old, but he still has great footwork. And if he only has 1 defender to worry about and no shot clock, I don't think any point guard could stop him.

Also, Lin has very quick first-step to penetrate, which could be difficult for Kobe to stop it.

You've accepted Lin is scared so there is no convincing you otherwise. The last time Kobe dissed him, Lin dropped 38 on him in a real game. So I hope Kobe has lit the fire.

He'll just play off him. Force him to take a jumper. One-on-one generally favors the bigger player with a post game.

Like if Kobe played Shaq, Shaq wouldn't guard him out on the perimeter. He'd just give him the jumper and crowd the basket. On offense, he'd just back Kobe down and dunk it over and over and over again.

Did you miss free agency? LeBron, Melo, Pau, I Thomas, and many more were out there but no way anyone would join a Kobe only Lakers team. One or to more pieces of the puzzle could have been here for sure...

But, did you notice that Kobe was quite slow in defense recently?
