I don't understand why people here want to trade a guy that has been playing at an all star level. Jordan Hill has opened up another dimension of his game by being a much better offensive player this season.
And he has done it pretty consistently this season. You don't trade solid players.
Kobe, hill, and randle is a pretty decent core moving forward. And with Lin and Nash coming off the books this season we should be able to grab a great SF, and a good point guard...along with better bench players.
You don't trade hill unless Durant or Lebron is involved in that deal. |

As long as we have to depend on an inconsistent loafer like Hill to show up and produce, this team is going nowhere. |

I'd trade Jordan Hill for any team's 1st round pick. And we if we can't trade him I'd decline to pick up the option.
Good player, but the wrong guys to pay given our team's construction |

Jordan Hill's option needs to be picked up BEFORE free agency starts. So if you pick him up, chop $9m off the cap space right away. So you go down from $27m to $18m available. So no, it's not a no brainer to keep him via player option. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

He's been good this season, but he has hardly been consistent. And he's nowhere close to being an all star. |

We should hope he plays well so it piques the interest of other teams.
Only problem is his trade veto. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I'm sure if the team we're trading him to agrees to pick up his second year, he'll waive his NTC.
He'd be decent depth on a contender...although he is paid like a starter, which is simply is not. |

That is the hope. Or if there's a winning team that he wouldn't mind joining. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Man we sure do overvalue our talent in LG. Putting up stats on a crappy team usually not a good indicator for success with contender. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ |

I don't think he's good enough to start on a good team. He can be the 1st big off the bench though.
With that being said, I'd rather have Ed Davis off the bench for half the price of Hill next year and locked up for a few years, than have to overpay Hill to not play defense. _________________ You are either in or on your way to the NBA Finals. |

Yup. To be fair, he's improved, but All-Star? Not even close. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Apparently averaging 12/8 while playing no defense is considered "All-Star level" now. |

You must be on drugs. However, I wish that you were the GM of another team and we could unload Hill on you in return for an actual all star. Hill has been OK, but he is a role player with little hope of developing into more. I do like the guy, but don't overvalue him. |

The agenda on this board that Hill plays no defense really irritates me. Why don't you re-watch the last Spurs game for example and how he repeatedly denied Duncan or forced him into bad shots to the point where JVG in particular was giving him props for his defense. Duncan scored mainly on others.

Hill has NOT been playing like an all-star.
BUT, he has been playing very well. He has also added an extra dimension to his game and the team with his mid-range jump shooting. I'm a fan of Hill's and I'd like him to stay, however, if we could get a good PG by trading him (because he does have legit value) I'd be 'ok' with that - even though we would be very short-handed upfront.
People on this board bagging Hill are simply looking for a scapegoat. Period. People bringing up allegations about choking his gf need to keep out of his private life. Should we still be calling Kobe a rapist based on that sort of thinking about 'allegations'???
