Tarik Black Shares His Favorite Kobe Bryant Moment
Quote: | The ability to play through injury at a high level is something that Bryant is highly respected for throughout the league, and for Black to call that his favorite moment of Bryant’s as his teammate shows just that. |

Yeah, that's the great piece of his deal. Means la can look at what's available and either make a move or punt forward with his salary. They can also trade him in the offseason. |

I think Black, if he's not in the Lakers plans going forward, may be a nice trade chip. 6m for a backup big capable of playing 15-17 mpg off the bench is nice. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Tarik Black Marvels At Luke Walton’s Passing Ability, Coaching Atmosphere
Quote: | Tarik Black marvels at his new head coach, after signing a two-year deal in the offseason.
The relationship Black has with Walton stems back beyond the NBA when Walton began his coaching journey at the University of Memphis.
Black has fond memories of his first experience with Walton, picking at his knowledge of basketball. |

Great all-around game last night from Tarik. His hustle was fantastic as he helped turn thing around for the Lakers.
I don't expect him to do this every night but if he can become a consistent force on both ends of the court he could be a valuable member of the regular rotation.
He displayed power and even a little finesse around the rim. Its apparent that he put in a lot of grind/work over the off-season.
Stats: 15 point on 5 - 5 shooting, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block (+18) |

Great game by TB! He must have been so frustrated last season with Damn Byron.
I am so happy for him now! _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

I don't know why people are acting so surprised by his performance last night, honestly. The way he played last night is the way he's always played.
If you like Nance then you should like Tarik too. In terms of energy and hustle they basically play the same way. That's why they're the most ideal combo for the second unit. The hustle and defense will always be there from them. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. It's dumbfounding that Byron didn't play this guy. He's shown this ability for a while now. |

Tarik Black shows off his potential in preseason win over Kings
Quote: | On the surface, the play could have just revealed Tarik Black’s bruising strength with his listed 6-foot-9, 250-pound frame. But symbolically it could have represented Black finally unleashing his power that often went unused in a previously frustrating season.
But instead of sitting on the bench, Black played a large part in securing the Lakers’ 103-84 victory over the Sacramento Kings in their preseason opener on Tuesday at Honda Center. Black represented a second unit that chipped away at a 13-point deficit in the second half. He posted 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting and five rebounds. And even if it’s necessary to consider the Kings mostly rested their starters, Black validated something he felt all along as he mostly sat on the bench last season. |

the most surprising aspects of his game were when he took the ball off the dribble a few times, even in transition he finished with a beautiful layup. Never knew he had that in his arsenal.
We have a 6m "option" (though technically a non-guaranteed deal) on him. That may prove to be a bargain (and if we keep him, we will have full bird rights on him after that final year). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

He showed a really nice touch around the rim. |

That one where he went to his left and finished smoothly with his offhand was everything we were hoping Julius would be doing.
He had a really good rookie season if you look at his stats, it was a shame what Scott did with him last season. On the bright side we got Ingram and Black is still with us while Scott is writing a book about The Manning Up Theory. |

Tarik Black, bench unit finish strong in 103-84 victory
The Lakers opened preseason with a win by the strength of their bench.
Quote: | Tarik Black led the way for the Los Angeles bench in the second half, scoring 15 points and pulling down five rebounds. His overall high activity level sparked the Lakers, highlighted by one sequence at the start of the fourth quarter when Black stole an inbounds pass and took the ball the length of the court for a bucket and the foul. |

Byron perma-benching Black was just one in a long list of head-scratchers. Especially when Byron specifically named Black as one of the guys he wanted to bring back in his exit interview after his first year. We brought him back and then Byron proceeds to DNP-CD him, inexplicably. So weird. |

He was nothing short of amazing. The defensive pressure he and Nance turned up won the game. |

Realistically speaking TB was matched up/playing against a bunch of scrubs but
he at least proved that he has potential and can produce when given the opportunity. |
