Against the Rockets? He's gonna get roasted on the PnR.

Seems T-Rob would be a better choice.

Yes. Who is the Rocket backup, Harrel?

They'll both have their chances.

Black has been a good bench player for us before his injury. His defence needs to improve but his rebound number is solid. I can see us trading him in the summer to give minutes to Zubac. I think he and some 2nd round picks can give us a solid backup SG/SF

We have an option on him, it makes him untradeable unless he agrees to a trade.

I don't think that's fully accurate. We have a non-guaranteed date as compared to a team option, though functionally, it's the same, but technically, means we could trade him.

I'm not 100% sure so I defer to our CBA experts.

With Tarik and Larry we go from middle of the pack - trending upwards defense off the bench. Without Tarik... we're a Summer League / D-League comparable defense.

The team as a whole was playing great together. Not so much since the injuries. Not sure if TB or Nance plays better D, but they definitely play decent D together.

So much of D is rotations, communication and working as a team to cover one another. I can't wait to for the team to be whole again!

A non-guaranteed 2nd year is different than an option. He can be traded without his consent.

Black (ankle) did not participate in Saturday's practice and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Mark Medina of the LA Daily News reports.

Thanks, I had thought it was an option.

Thomas Robinson And Tarik Black Call Out Lakers In Practice

Time to Step Up!

Quote:
“Be humbled by the fact that we have the opportunity to play basketball,” Black said afterward. “Step it up. We’re working hard, so not step it up as if we’re playing lazy. But step it up in our humility for the game.”

Black, who is in his third season as a Laker, is known for his leadership, so it’s no surprise that he was one of the players to speak to the team, and he correctly points out that while the Lakers haven’t seen a lack of effort, they are overlooking some of the little things. Of course, injuries have robbed them of some of their chemistry, with Black himself missing the last five games with a sprained ankle.

Tarik Black (ankle) questionable for Thursday

Quote:
Tarik Black (right ankle) did not practice Wednesday and is being listed as questionable for Thursday's game vs. Miami.
If Black can't give it a go Thursday night, Thomas Robinson could flirt with around 20 minutes off the bench with Larry Nance (knee) on the sidelines. Although, that really doesn't mean all that much in fantasy hoops. Dec. 21 - 1:01 pm et

Didn't know he was that vocal as a leader. Nice to hear. Wondering if we still would have struggled with critical rebounds in some of the past games if he was in as part of those small ball lineups.

Thought it would be a week or so injury. I remember when it first happened he said he wasn't ruling himself out for the next game. It's going on 3 weeks now.
