If we waived Blaclk today, I bet there is a slim chance someone picks him up, unless it would be for D-league purposes. Only another terrible team would snatch him up imo? |
So you don't think the Rockets, who started him when Howard was down, would pick him up again? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I really like Tarik. He's the player that Jordan Hill used to be when we first got him. And he has waaaay more leadership qualities |

I thought he was a good pickup. He reminds me of Kendrick Perkins a bit, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I also liked what I saw from him in the SL, but it's still SL and he has to prove it in actual games. |

You mean like last year, in the actual games? |

I like him, but I'm the type who likes Sacre too. I'm not sure there's that much difference. |

Black isnt gonna be top 5 player on a championship team but hes the type of player you need to win championship. He leaves it all out there |

That's the difference between Black and Sacre. Sacre is a third stringer capable of spot backup work but you're in trouble if he's starting, or if he's your primary backup. Black has shown to be a capable backup who can spot start for you (check out his numbers down the stretch last year). |

I don't understand how anyone can say Tarik is expendable when Sacre is still on the team.
I definitely wish Tarik could be more of a shot blocker, but he's already put up way better stats than Sacre ever did. _________________ You are either in or on your way to the NBA Finals. |

I guess I just don't think Sacre is that bad. Admittedly, I just couldn't stomach watching very much of this team down the stretch last season, so perhaps I'm wrong.
FWIW, I could name far worse backup centers on good to great teams than Sacre... mygod, John Salley.

I'm not knocking either guy. Just stating that Black is a considerably better player. |

I think there is a big difference, he is a very productive player unlike Sacre per minute played.
Always bet on black. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Black and Sacre are different players with different roles. Both have value until they lose the job.
Black is more suited to play small ball center or PF IMO. Sacre is a legitimate center with size to rebound and set screens. Works hard and plays smart.
Curious if Hibbert were to miss 10 games. Would you start Sacre or Black? Personally I think Sacre starts and Black maintains his role with the uptempo 2nd unit. |

I'd rather keep Black because of his ability to play small ball center. With hibbert you have a massive but immobile big. Sacre isn't the most nimble but Black is much more quicker. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Makes sense but it may depend on the opponent.
Sacre is a decent 3rd string true center while Black is more versatile, can play C/PF and is more athletic. |

Black is a much better player than Sacre and it's not even close. If you don't know that it shows you don't follow this team closely.
Not trying to insult Sacre but that's the truth. |

To play small ball center don't you have to be able to shoot from the outside? |

^I wouldn't call it small ball, but he can get up and down the floor to set screens and then roll hard to the basket, which Hibbert may be too slow to do consistently. You have a couple top offenses that feature such a player (who can't shoot from outside) in the middle.
Now if we were really going small ball, I could see Randle as the go to center, like we saw in summer league, as traditional 5's have a really tough time guarding him. |

Curious why you felt the snotty little snide comment was necessary? Do you feel more confident now? Superior somehow? Perhaps you shouldn't try so hard and just express your opinion.
As I stated, both players have their roles and strengths and weaknesses. I also consider Black the better player in his role. But IMO Sacre has his also. Against most teams I would be starting Sacre over Black at Center if Hibbert goes down this season. Just my opinion on how their roles fit the team. |

Except both guys have played multiple games as a starter, and black does it better by almost any measure. |
