Tarik Black Can Be the Spark Off the Bench LA Needs

One of the Lakers most exciting players did not even crack the rotation for the first three games and while he was gone, his hustle and athleticism was sorely missed.

Can someone just try to come up with one reason why Bass is playing over Tarik? Wtf!

I see nothing but bad plays on both sides of the court. Byron must want to get fired.

I don't know what Tarik Black has to do to earn playing time but I feel like he has done it.

Bass is a good player. Problem is, we have so many young guys to develop at his position.

Lakers need to trade Bass to a better team at the earliest opportunity for both his and their sake.

It's freaking ridiculous that Black gets freaking benched for no freaking reason!!

he actually plays defense and plays well whenever he gets playing time,

but freaking Byron just decided to bench him again??? wtf

I prefer Black to Bass at the moment, Black should get more minutes and playing time than Bass. If this season is about letting the younger players develop then don't bench Black play him over Bass.

But even if winning is the first priority, Black should still get more minutes than Bass. Byron isn't gonna play Bass at PF, sadly, which is the reason he's struggling. He's not a rim protector, nor does he rebound well when he plays C. He has no value when he's out there, a lot like Sacre. He's just...on the court. That's it. Black proves his worth every single time he plays, so Byron really has no reason to keep making him ride the bench. And I still think the way he treats players and distributes minutes has personal reasons attached to it, for whatever reason. That's the only way I can make any sense out of his weird rotations.

It is frustrating. Why the hell does Byron LOVE Bass so much? Black is way more effective at Center. It is driving me crazy.

There is absolutely nothing he can do. He already out plays Bass and is the best PnR big on the team (offense not defense). It took Ronnie Price going down to get his ass out of the lineup and that's what it will take with Bass.

I feel the same way. It will take an injury to get Byron to use Black. It should not come to that, no one should have to be injured to improve a team. Byron is just maddening.

They may as well let TB get in a D-league game or two since he's just riding the pine.

Maybe in his eyes Tarik Black is all 'treble' and you KNOW what Byron is all about.

Someday, perhaps in his old age, Byron will realize that Brandon Bass should only play PF.

Tarik is so deep into the doghouse that even if he did manage to crawl out, he still wouldn't be able to find the foxhole...

Last night it was his birthday. Scott can't even get him out there for 2-3 minutes?

This poor guy worked unbelievably hard for us last year, averaged 7/7 in 22mpg as a starter, and now he can't even see the floor?
