I used to blame Byron but I understand the logic. Bass is playing great. Nance and Randle need the majority of mins. Hibbert can be let go but I think the problem is we need to keep Roy in the mix in case we have no other C option in FA.

Personally, I agree to a buy out with Roy if he wants it. Maybe a team like the Spurs or Cavs would go out and sign him. Then, I'd start Black and rotate Bass and Nance at C.

Personally, my gut tells me Black is going to get a good offer and we're going to let him walk. I hope I'm wrong. I think he's a fantastic bench big in the NBA.

Whiteside/Black
Randle/Nance/Bass

Very competent bigs rotation.

I may be wrong, but the Spurs and Cavs are not going to sign him. The Cavs let Varajao walk, who is already filling in nicely for the injured Ezeli. The Spurs have Boban Marjanovic, and he'd be starting on a handful of teams.

I don't have any issue with Hibbert as a person, but his mobility issues make it 4 on 5 out there. Black, IMO, is the much better player at this point.

There is zero logic for playing Hibbert over Black. It's all on Byron. He deserves to play.

Bass is doubtful for today's game which means Black finally might get some game time.

I honestly expect Sacre to steal his minutes.

Black will get 6 minutes... in the third... when Kelly is in foul trouble.

Then if Black plays well, Byron will credit it to his coaching.

Prove me wrong Byron!

Nice game Tarik, love seeing that P&R. Ease up on the fouls and he should be getting 20 mpg.

He has no business losing any minutes to Hibbert.

I like that they are different. Tarik is P&R, scoring inside. Roy can step out and hit the jumper. And it is hard to complain when Bass gets minutes, dude is the ultimate professional and plays his ass off. Good situation to have, in my opinion. Tarik is a RFA, Roy is likely gone and possibly Bass as well. I would love having Black, Ibeh and Sacre as the center rotation next season. With Black and Ibeh getting the most minutes, and Sacre being the emergency guy.

You should stop advising Byron.

Black still seems like the best C we have.
Black/Sacre/Hibbert.

I would stop playing Bass at C, although he is for sure the best player of these four.

All in all - what a poor rotation of C-s the Lakers have

All Black needs to really do at this point is work on his ready hands.

I think Black is better than Bass at the C position, but Bass has been playing out of position the whole season. The only difference is playing time. Byron doesn't allow Black to get his reps in so he's going to be more out of sync. He DNPs him for 5 games and then plays him one whole quarter the next. Byron doesn't understand that progression is predicated on rhythm and continuity.

He'll be really good for another team who gives him playing time (see Ed Davis in Portland).

Big Roy is in the last year of his contract, no buy out needed. Just let him walk, or sign for the vet minimum!

I hope so.. he's a good backup C. Gary Lance is a good backup PF. Hopefully the other 3 prove they are studs.

No problemo, I think Stu Lantz said it one time but I can't comfirm that's where it came from

That savage, game-changing block on Hood earned him a trip right to the bench.

This is how a coach so blatantly controls the outcome of games.
