Lakers played some D tonight

No they didn't Pacers are not a good scoring team.

Maybe we didn't watch the same game. I saw some good D to win.

The Pacers did go cold from the 3 though, they had missed 16 three pointers in a row at one point.

The 3rd has been the bane of the Laker most of the season. When they survived the 3rd I smelled a W.

Give credit to Lin. He had a flurry of points to finish that 3rd.
So who starts against Portland if no Kobe and Wes?

being disrespectful is ugly. Kobe this year has not been a star. He has not been the difference between winning and losing. Once that is accepted by you and the coach the lakers will be better.
He is great...but to build the future you have to let go of the kobe is better than everyone idea. He was....but no longer. Im glad he made the shot. He was fresher than in previos 4th quarters.

Kobe is still on the roster and he can still contribute. You don't build the future riding a bunch of inconsistent role players just because they got hot for a bit. Lin is not the future, Swaggy is not the future, boozer is not the future. If you want to win games today, you still play your best player on the team who is Kobe. It's really that simple.
11 -23 dude...we were better last year without kobe and a bunch of injuries......what does that tell you.

That doesn't tell me anything considering that this team lost 3 straight games with Kobe sitting on the bench just this past week. Your agenda is see through. LMAO at saying guys like Lin and Nick Young are the future, I want what you're drinking.

They won 1 and lost 2 without Kobe. Those 2 teams were top 5.

So? Losses are losses if you are just going to randomly bring them up. Or are we going to pick and choose which losses matter to fit an agenda? To go even further the team without Kobe beat Golden State who was number 1 or 2 in the west at that time but couldn't beat Chicago and Dallas? You are not making any sense brah.

No, they said in the pre-game that Kobe was sitting out Portland since it is back to back. Also said pretty much all of Jan the Lakers play every other day with no long gaps so managing minutes will be key.

My Most Notable Reasons Why We Won Tonight:

-Jeremy Lin going on his 7-0 run that really sparked the whole comeback

-Boozer Punking Roy "Chicken Legs" Hibbert LOLOLOL

-Ed Davis

-Swaggy P not settling for jacked up jumpers only as that reverse over the head Jordan Esque Flip Shot was big time.

-Byron not really tinkering with the lineups too much. Kind of just letting whatever was working at the moment, flow.

-Swaggy P's defense was decent tonight

-Oh Yeah that guy Kobe as well.
Finally closing the game out Vintage Mamba style.

Key thing tonight was 28-30 FTs.

Free Throws has been a huge thing in our close games. We didn't foul much tonight, but we certainly didn't rebound. Our success lies on in winning both those battles.

28-30 FTs. Swaggy 12-12.

FTs was the difference in the loss against Memphis. Tonight was a 1pt game. Makes all the difference.

That we have even less talent on the team than last year.

There is more talent on this team than last year.

You obviously didn't follow the Lakers last year. Too busy trashing the McHale and Beverly,

Let me know who were your talent? Gasol and Meeks? Barely Nash and Kobe. I have heard this debate 3 times already.

but seriously this version of kobe is fun man, its been 4 games and he's still doing it so hopefully its here to stay, this just shows me that he could have 150 triple doubles by now if he wanted to

No Kobe tomorrow. Swag big in this game. Who steps up? Wellington, Lin, Booze and Swag have to take up the slack with Swag and Booze making the games in crunch time or Lin getting to the rack for FTs or maybe +1s. Also down Wes tomorrow. Still, fun game and Staples faithful leave happy including Money and Jack.

I dont know who takes over tomorrow, but kobe being out hopefully means we get a good look at clarkson

You think ANY of our current bigs is as talented as Pau?
And Meeks was a very consistent shooter.
You spent all last year on the Houston boards and didn't follow the Lakers until Lin was traded here. You have no idea what the Lakers did last year or what they have done in the past.

Very true.

if was going to mention the most notable reason why we almost lost it would be REBOUNDS.

Crazy how when we had Lamar, Pau and Drew we would own every team every night in the boards department. Nowadays we the ownee's LoL

Agreed.
Btw, check this fun fact out -
Lakers shot 28-for-30 on free throws, which is the team’s best mark on that many foul shots since 1991.

But did you notice, the Pacers didn't try to grab the rebounds, they forced it on rim or against the board so that it would go to the perimeter where their guys are in position to receive the rebounds. When you are on the defensive boards, you have to grab the ball and that usually takes two hands.

BTW, I think the coaching staff have been checking in and taking some notes from the forum. Nice improvements on the Lakers. Weird how Lin had a great game last time and only got 7 mins look by the end of 2nd. This part still puzzles me.

You guys notice Kobe rarely does that post up fadeaway jumper anymore? I guess he realize taking shots like that a bunch of times takes a lot of energy.

that's because of his archille-torn injury. He can't jump as well as he used to, which really affect the accuracy of his fade away jumper.
