The guy has improved his game in the summer. He is miles ahead of where he was as a basketball player from last season. I would like for Byron to really give him some solid minutes. I am thinking 32 minutes a game. |

If you multiply zero by zero, you still get zero. |

I do think Sacre has improved, but if he gets more minutes that means minutes for Hill and Davis. My guess is the Lakers try to move Hill at the deadline, so I doubt they want to lower his value by demoting him for Robert Sacre. |

The only reason Sacre is playing significant minutes is Byron Scott's rigid and stubborn system of substitution.
The right thing to do would be to distribute the 144 minutes at the C/PF slots to Hill, Davis, Boozer, Black and a few PF mins to Kelly. That would come out to around 33 minutes each for the 4 bigs, give or take a few mins depending on matchups and who is playing well. And you would have 8 minutes left over for Kelly and maybe some scrub time for Sacre.
You could argue that he can do the same to the swing/guard positions and have better flow and chemistry.
But he is what he is, a stubborn coach.. |

Speaking of Sacre and rigid sub patterns. In first quarter, Ellington was getting lit up and was completely overmatched by Harden. Sacre did a good job of getting position inside for a bucket. So then the first substitution is Boozer to Sacre. |

I love Sacre for his energy and his character. But seeing as we now have BOOM BOOM (not really a fan of this nickname), I'd rather much have him eating up all the minutes for our bigs instead of Sacre |

Sacre is a reasonable fifth big, but he plays small. Personal offense stops at hook shots, and despite effort defensively, the fact that he's a bottom three rebounding center completely makes that useless. We should have waived him for Hassan Whiteside earlier. Besides tearing it up for fantasy, he would have given us some well needed rim protection. |
