I agree, particularly with Harold Ramis. He was an understated comedic genius who could both write and act. It would be a challenge to replicate the years of chemistry with Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd.

I dont mind remakes if they are decent, but, this just screams bad idea. This will NOT make them much money if any.

YOu wanna remake this movie? fine, but you dont do it like this. If you wanna add a female to the cast? ok, fine, but all female? nope nope nope nope. I just dont see it.

I didn't know Ernie Hudson was reprising his role.

Yeah, don't know how this is going to work.

Bye.

Ramis and Aykroyd back in the 70s/80s were triple threats. Harold directed Vacation 1, he co-wrote Animal House, and acted in Stripes/Ghostbusters. He had a very understated career. He was originally from that SCTV group of comedians that rivaled SNL and later mixed with so many of them in movies. Ramis, John Candy, Eugene Levy, uh...Rick Moranis. There was just a lot of comedy talent in the late 70s to mid 80s. I remember Uncle Howard (Stern) talk about how Dan Aykroyd was someone he respected for his writing ability. You can tell Dan wrote most of the lines in Ghostbusters.

Long live Egon!

The superfluous 4th Ghostbuster. That's like being the 5th Beatle. No one ever immediately thinks of Winston Zeddimore when they recall Ghostbusters in their minds.

"That's a big Twinkeh..."

He smoked, too. Probably Kools or Benson & Hedges. Aykroyd and Murray probably Marlboros or Winstons. That was a very heavy smoking movie. There was a scene where 3 of them lit up. That scene where Aykroyd sees Slimer with cig stuck to his lip.

She's related to vaccine truther Jenny. Jenny's own attractiveness is measured by the amount of talking she does. She's always been more likable when she forgets to put on her bra and panties. She doesn't seem to understand why the world doesn't take her seriously simply because she has a pierced cl.

Why not just make a different movie, about busting ghosts, with an all-female cast?

It just irks me that they'd use the original name (which they're obviously leveraging because there's an existing franchise behind it), and then deviate so significantly from it.

Ouch. I can't speak to their intent, but that pic makes them look shallow and self-serving.

I doubt these kids have any idea who these women are; they aren't stars in kiddie movies and they are not sports idols. The "Ghostbusters" concept or franchise (movie and cartoon series) predates them.

Couldn't agree more.

"Opportunistic" is the word that comes to mind. Perhaps the term "shamelessly" could precede that as well. I hate thinking so terribly pessimistically but that picture just reeks of nothing good or positive.

Exactly. Doubt many of these kids know who the OG Ghostbusters are... How are they supposed to be excited about these 4 clowns in their janitor costumes when the movie hasn't even been released, let alone advertised. Ridiculous.

Terrible trailer. It didn't grab me for one second. Only those that never saw the originals will give this movie a chance.

Wow, they should have hired better writers. Or cast some Groundlings (for example) who could ad lib their way through a script.

Yeah, this is an offensively miserable looking attempt at something that never should have been attempted. I usually don't care how films do if I don't think they look good but I certainly don't mind rooting against some, because unlike TV where people lose their jobs when something fails, once a movie is released the only people who might suffer are those who deserve it. I hope this movie tanks big time.

A creative master piece misplaced. How do you replace Murray, Aykroyd and Moranis. Leslie Jones replacing Ernie Hudson. SMH.
