Lakers & Knicks vying for R. Jackson before trade deadline

Quote:
The issue, as always, is what kind of package can the Lakers put together to make a deal work. Jackson makes only $2.2 million, so if the Lakers were to include one of their expiring contracts such as Jeremy Lin or Jordan Hill, they would likely have to take back someone like Kendrick Perkins to make the deal work.

I'm fine with this as long as we do not give out any picks or Randle.

Hill for Reggie and whoever makes the money work.

I'm with you on that but either scenario above is okay by me.

A Hill or Lin Trade would be fine. Plus either player would be going to a pretty good team...

So does this mean we're giving up on the dream of Durant in 2016? It would be bizarre for KD to usher him out of town and then go play with him on a worse team.

Picking up Jackson wouldn't change our fate this season but he would be a very good piece moving forward.

Yeah Reggie is a nice player but he won't ruin the tank. Hill and Lin, well when he plays, have as much impact as Reggie on the court. Reggie is just younger and has more potential.

Yes it could. He will be a free agent this summer. Him and Swaggy could do some serious damage to this tank. Im not saying we would be a good team but they could mess around and win some games they are not suppose to and drop off the bottom 5

Nah. Embrace the tank and sign him in the off-season.

How much do you think he gets this summer? I don't think the Lakers should pay more than MLE money. What did Collision get last year? I'd trade for him, but wouldn't give up a pick.

Jackson backing up Price wouldn't help us win many. Kennedy mentioning the Knicks and Lakers, trying to get OKC a lottery pick?

Gutsy, but I agree.

However, I dont think we would have to. I would offer Nick, Ronnie, Ed Davis and Hill for Reggie, Perry and Perkins.

You have a point based on the fact that this trade would not in the least result in a post-season seed for the Lakers much less produce a contender.... on the other hand a top-4 pick could be gold in more ways than one....

And OKC says no. They just can't absorb Nick when they barely need him.

OKC is not going to let him walk; he will be traded to some team before the deadline now that they D. Waiters.

I'd trade NY, JLin, JHill for Waiters, RJ, and Perkins. Do it.

He got a 3 year 15 mill ish contract. If we can get Reggie for that then that would be awesome. He'll go for more though. He has a lot more potential than Collison who got a lot of playing time to prove himself and didn't perform all that well, solid but not great.

We'd possibly be giving up the Houston pick to OKC and then our own pick to PHO.
