Someone please explain to me how a player shooting 37% overall is so good and so fun to watch.
He's one of those players I'd laugh at on other teams. Clowning around and acting like a fool while his team got smoked.
"But..But... he has positive energy! We need his attitude in the locker room!"
No. The guy isn't a championship level player (and never will be) with that attitude. He's simply a low IQ chucker who thinks he's good and people buy into his joke of a "persona". A 37% shooter has a "persona?". We really are the laughing stock of the league. _________________ Dominating every day. |

No one thinks he's the ultimate 6th man or anything. In the end as crappy as the Lakers are, you gotta have some kind of fun with this season. |

He's perfect for this era of Lakers ball. He dates a "pop star"... he has a catchy nickname and he is a social media junkie.
The "fans" get to take a few selfies at the game, tweet a few times and see a wild circus shot or two. All while the team gets smoked by 20 points night in and night out.
A nice distraction. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

Well there is Nick Young hype, and then there is Nick Young hate. Calling him a court jester is just so wrong and he does have a lot of skill. Unfortunately he's had a tough stretch but please stop the hate, everyone has their up and downs.
Funny how quickly this fanbase turns on their players. Probably the worst fanbase in the League. Then we wonder why players don't wanna come here. |

I think it mostly has to do with him being one of the few players last year who seemed to give a damn. |

Nick would be a useful guy in a good system.
but Byron's iso-iso system is like the worst thing that could ever happen to him... it's like giving a blind man license to shoot. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. He may not have playing time in team like Spurs.
There's many skillful players in NBA with great street-ball skills, but lack of team ball mindset.
The league has changed, iso play is no longer worked, every great team is playing great passing game. |

How about the front office overpaid for NY. I think Ellington is a better shooter than NY and plays better defense to boot. |

The Spurs would never sign him. |

Agree with this statement, in the right system as a catch and shoot guy he's deadly. But when he ISO's at the top....all hell breaks loose. |

He's a 39% three point shooter. In this day and age of the NBA, that has some value. Because of the threes, his TS% is .535, which isn't bad at all. He has a PER of 15.5, which rates him just above the league average.
I wouldn't want him on a team that was serious about winning, but he doesn't suck as much as some people seem to think. |

He would best fit on a team never meant for the playoffs. NY is overrated always has been always will be. (as a player)
Ellington should be penned in as starter for as long as he is with the Lakers, also give him an extra 15 min of playing time B.Scott! |
