If you can grab a HOF talent it's what the Lakers have had in their championship runs. The question is what shape will Russ's body be when he's available to be a Laker? |
You consider Aldridge Post Kobe generation?
What about Kyrie, and the red headed step child down the hall? _________________ 16 and counting.... |

Aldridge, maybe but unlikely. Oh, you have Bosh/Wade too who will be in the HOF. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I do have concerns regarding durant fragility these days. I think if he leaves partially because of westbrook, then okc is more likely to trade westbrook to keep durant. I mentioned when the kevin ding article came out, if durant indicates his displeasure with okc and they think he will leave, randle + our top 5 pick would be a helluva trade that the cheap thunder would probably take.
Once 2016 rolls around, I think we hire kevin ollie and durant comes to la.

Starting to think NBA PG's are alot like NFL RB's. Their windows of good health and dominance can be unexpected and the duration is unpredictable. As a FO maybe it's best to get a player at that position "on the rise". As opposed to chasing what a dominant PG did in past years. |
This is an interesting take since super-athletic score-first PG's are the norm now. Maybe it's just turning into a hazardous occupation the way the position is being played.
Gone are the days of Stockton and even Nash. Trouble is, who was the last PG that fits the current mold who won a title? |
Lebron James. |

I highly doubt that Durant/Russell stay in OKC, might lose both. Will they trade them? |
Why would they stay with an organization that robbed them of a potential dynasty? |
Have no fear, Sam Presit is here? |
...here to trade an MVP caliber player for peanuts!
That trade was a complete debacle. It cost them likely championships and it will probably cost them their remaining two stars. What exactly has OKC done to improve the roster since trading Harden? |
Bingo!!!!

Russ is a Ford Mustang, Lebron is a Humvee. I think the Humvee fares better in a crash. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I don't know. The paint on top of the Humvee keeps on coming off but someone re-paints it or puts a cover over it. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Durant going to New York makes sense. Phil Jackson, Triangle offense, MJ to Kobe to Durant.
Just another rude wake up call to how bad we dropped the ball when we didn't bring Phil back in 2012. _________________ Maybe you think it's completely innocent. Maybe you don't. If NY gets Durant, yes, that'll be a fair point if Phil recruited KD there. At least I'll be able to watch some enjoyable basketball if he comes here. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Westbrook is more likely than Durant just because he's from LA, so coming to play for the Lakers would complete the cycle. Lakers finally get a good PG and with the young core of randle+ this years top 5 pick, we could be going somewhere. |

Wear and tear is like Father Time, you can't defeat it. Players like Wade, LeBron, Iverson, who sacrifice their bodies, eventually slow down, exception, Iverson.
LeBron's body is telling him to change his game. He's doing what Michael did in the latter part of his career, shoot more jumpers instead of charging the rim.
He still possesses the ability but has learned to temper it's use. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

He'll be 29 once he hits free agency, I think they can get a good 4-5 years out of him. |

Russ has improved his shooting considerably over the years, so you can tell he puts in the work. Would be better served IMO playing shooting guard. Would be nice to pair with a guy like D'Angelo Russell, guy who can handle and shoot the 3. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I actually don't think it makes a lot of sense. Durant is not really a strong post player for the triangle. Durant can be the slashing/ spot up triangle type player although not sure if thats getting the most out of him. Then you have melo who is already there with similar play style. also like the article said, lal actually seems to be a better situation overall. |

I think Durant's floor from there is something like Dirk's post 30 career. Dirk is 36 now. So you'll get at least seven years of that, assuming you resign him. |

Yeah, I know, it's all about the Benjamin's. I believe they would have been contenders with what they had. Maybe add one more piece, a stretch 4 would could rebound. Keeping Ibaka and Harden would cost but I think would have paid off in playoff and finals monies. |
And it isn't like Bennett is hurting for the cash. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Westbrook and Durant are both morons if they leave each other. Between the two of them they can win it all. |
