No star is joining Mr. Flexibility, they want to join a team....If Mitch can't find good pieces now, it could be yet another long long off season waiting for players that are not coming.....and back the beginning of 2014 season, flexibility and no one worth a darn to spend it on....Groundhog Season...
We'll see if Mitch can get something going other than a loop.... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !

Anyone who's heard Mitch speak could look at those list of questions and pretty much know the bland, polite, say-nothing answers he's going to give. Hard to imagine why anyone would actually waste time listening to a radio interview with him. |
I do like how he keeps things close to his vest, never intimates that there is turmoil in the front office, etc. Keeps everything calm. I've always liked that about him.
Mitch's mantras:
1. NO LEAKS: never hear about proposed trades most of the times;
2. NO PEAKS: never gives up what he's doing, any problems in the ownership/coaching, etc. |
Sometimes he puts it out there, like in 2005 when he basically told season ticket owners that they were going to draft Bynum without actually using his name. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Not much new in the interview, but hopefully, he can right the ship and bring the Lakers back into contention. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

I was thinking something similar. Only mine was much simpler. They meet once a month because payday is always on the 1st.
Yours is much funnier though. |

Adding young talent and maintaining cap flexibility is the best path forward. |

Cap Flexibility is not getting us a star and much less an all star; we'll need a team and cap space but without the first there will be better options out there.... _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

Said it before, I'll say it again: Mitch Kupchak = Tom Hagen.

Tom Hagen comes across as smarter than Mitch. Kupchaks halting speech and use of "um" every 3 seconds is more reminiscent of slingblade. _________________ "I was laying myself on the line by saying, if this doesn't work in three to four years, if we're not back on the top then I will step down because that means I have failed,"

He's got a little Chuck Norris in him.
If you can see Mitch, he can see you. If you can't see Mitch, your franchise player may already be on a plane to LAX. |

Does anyone believe MK anymore? He doesn't have any power anymore. I mean, it's the spoil brat Jimbo running this train wreck. If MK had any final decision making the past 3 years, I don't think Lakers will be in this mess. |

Mitch has as much or more power now than before. Jim and Jeannie rely on him heavily. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

we need another guy who's good at selling the team... someone who'll make the best pitch to get the big names to sign with the Lakers. Mitch is good, but his charisma is below average. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. If he has one weakness, it's this. Jerry West also lacked charisma, but he was Jerry West.
Anyone think Kobe Bryant might make a good Jerry West replacement, working alongside Mitch? He'd certainly have the same cred Jerry did. |

Mitch sold himself to the devil, Jim owns Mitch, do I blame Mitch, not really, Mitch might as well take the money, if it is not Mitch taking the money then it would be someone else. _________________ .....

I mostly agree with your posts, however, I believe West had plenty of charisma. Like you said, he was Jerry West. _________________ .....

Mitch has zero power, he is a figure head, Jim makes the decisions. If you think this is Mitch's team he should be fired. _________________ .....
