Nice. He's clearly a very fluid athlete. Mike mentioned that Upshaw has athleticism comparable to pre-injury Bynum. However, Upshaw definitely looks to have better body control and agility than Drew. The form on his jumper looks great. The footwork needs to improve. I saw quite a bit of shuffling on some of his post moves, but that's something that should be correctable. His jump hook looks a little odd. The shot comes out of his hands more like a floater than a jump hook, but at least they were going in.
You're not gonna run any offensive sets through him anyway. He's there to protect the rim and rebound. That he is showing this stuff is all icing on the cake! _________________ Kobe

...Black signed a financial-aid agreement with KU on May 20, choosing the Jayhawks over Duke, Oregon, Ohio State and Georgetown. On Thursday, he for the first time explained what went into his decision. He had waited until reporting to campus to agree to his first interviews as a Jayhawk.
“For one, the masters program that provides me what I want to do, assures me I’m going to learn something new for my future and what I want to do in my future,” Black said.
After what he hopes is a long pro career, he plans to open his own nonprofit organization.

Really like the backcourt of Clarkson and Russell. However, I really do not like BS offense. I wish they would take a page from GS. I think Russell would especially benefit from GS offense.
A. Brown can definitely has the range. Lakers were able to get him some nice wide open kick outs early in the game.
Nance tweaked his knee so didn't play enough, but before that he seem to always around the ball. Going to be a fan favorite
Upshaw his conditioning is not where it needs to be but did well against KAT. Glad to hear the Lakers gave him a make good contract.
Black was a nice surprise. It is amazing we picked up when Houston had to waive him. I was much more impressed with him than Randle. Black showed some quickness and did very well in the rebound department. Black went undrafted in 2014. Amazing we are able to pickup Clarkson/Black that year.
Randle still confuses me to be honest. I am still waiting to see the talent that warrants a lottery pick. In the paint, he seems a couple inches too short or a split second too slow. I wish that if his offense was going he would at least try to do well in other parts of his game. For example, rebound. Unlike Black who always seem to be around the ball to rebound, Randle not nearly as committed to the rebound. He did well when he had enough room to drive around Payne. Still very early.
Mudiay knows one play. They only run that one play.
Russell runs 20-30 different plays.
"Mudiay is the best PG."
Id rather have a guard know how to be unstoppable with 1 play than to be mediocre at a bunch of different plays. Scott needs to stop trying to force feed his offense on the young guys. It's 2015 time to introduce a modern effective NBA offense to these guys.
I still love Russell and think he'll be great for us but Mudiay is going to be extra special.
He's young and can definitely grow, but I think the Lakers passed over him because there are question marks. Mudiay tries to get to the basket with strength. But until he works on his shot, people can just play him like Rondo. To his credit, he's a good passer. Denver got a good player with respect to their draft position. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.

So Steve Nash rather than Tony Parker. Ok.
The Princeton is a modern effective NBA offense. People expect it to be fully implemented with timing intact like the Sacramento Kings through 2 practices?
No wonder why we keep firing coaches. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

That's been my only real problem with Russell so far is he has trouble getting to the rim and finishing. We don't neccessarily need him to do that all the time but his struggles opened my eyes a bit.

You do notice the traffic he runs into within the halfcourt offensive set, right? _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Of course. You do notice how he settles for jumpers off the PnR instead of getting to the basket, right? We ran a lot of PnR last game.
