Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle blow up during Mavericks' game

LINK

There was a reason, other than losing, why Rondo is no longer a Celtic. He's a hot head who wants to do things his way. He doesn't have the cache (if that's the correct term) to be that obstinate.

IMO Rondo's a good player, not a super star. I'm glad the Lakers didn't go after him. He's a FA next season I hope they still don't.

Mitch indicated the organization wasn't going to spend on aging FA's, they're going to go with youth.

I for one am willing to see the team built from the bottom up. It may not be a contender for 2 3 years. Patience is a virtue.

Rondo suspended.

Management standing up for the coach is refreshing.

Don't get why Lakers fans want him so bad. He's not good enough to make up for his attitude.

I haven't watched him this season but he looked great for Boston in the past. Didn't he torch the Heat in the conference finals in a 7 game series? I still remember fans here talking about how great he was when he dominated in the playoffs.

Mavs have a very good coach in Carlisle.
It's not that he only behaves with a good coach, clearly Carlisle is one of the best in the league right now.

It's about getting Rondo to shut up and play D, something he seems to have forgotten how to focus on.

That was a long long time ago in rondos career. He's fallen off a cliff. Dude is shooting below 30% from the ft line since the trade! I can't get over a guard being that poor.

Carlisle has a bad rap with a lot of PG's in Dallas. Look up Kidd and Collison.

Rondo might have believed his own hype, he isn't a star player at all. Glad we didn't trade for him.

Dirk can't play with a ball dominant PG. He turns them into spot up shooters.

ZING!

But wasn't that back in 2008 when Rondo wasn't that good yet and the Celtics had KG, Pierce and Allen to worry about?

Wow you're right. Is the guy shooting his free throws from the 3-point line? It's pretty sad when DeAndre Jordan is a much better free throw shooter than he is.

Carlisle is a coach who calls the plays. I'd rather the PG who knows his teammates and their tendencies run the show.

Carlisle doesn't call many plays at all, he's pretty much the pioneer of the no call free flowing system. His play calls are generally limited to when he sees cracks in a defense

Carlisle is an elite coach. He's a better coach than Doc. Rondo is just a head case.

Rondo/Scott is just about the worst pairing I could think of. Two proud men who would throw punches at each other, not even kidding about it.
