I think there are only three coaches who can get respect from Rondo.....Doc, Phil (retired), or Pop.....if we have him with Byron, I'll just sit back with my popcorn.... |

Rondo is like the worst fit next to Kobe, he's going to be relegated to a spot up shooter, something he's terrible at. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

He'd have to pay the Lakers a max contract to come here.
He's missed 50% of his games the past 4 seasons, not a good sign for things to come.
I'd rather go with Clarkson/Patty Mills over Rondo all day.
He is the worst kind of player with Scott. I'd wager that he'll be in a fistfight with Scott by year's end. And Kobe may not be around if he's injured again so who the hell is going to control this guy? I don't want him anywhere near my young players like Clarkson and Randle. |
I'd rather go Clarkson/Price and I am so for real. |

I'd rather have Lin back than Rondo next season. He is younger, cheaper, has a better attitude, and is less injury prone. |

Kobe and Rondo..Yikes! might as well bring in Lance Stephenson for some additional "attitude". Byron would probably be the first NBA coach to quit in the middle of a game... |

I sure as heck hope Lakers don't consider him for nothing like max money. They already shat the bed with Kobe's contract, please don't do it again.
Rondo doesn't get along with Jim Carey but he's gonna love Scott?
Uhm...nah thanks |

No. No. No.
HELL NO!!!
Please lock and delete this thread or remove it from the lounge.
Just the sight of "Official Rajon Rondo Thread" nearly gave me a heart attack at first glance. Now it just makes my skin crawl.

I'm so glad he's gone off the rail at Dallas to expose what he'll be as a declining malcontent who is living off his laurels (when he used to be good). |
What does that say about Jason Kidd, since he clashed with "one of the best coaches" too, with vets like Dirk/Chandler on it? I don't the clash was that big of a deal; head strong players and coaches clash. |
And that's to Rondo's credit? He goes in there and within 20 games already destroys the place? |
I think saying "he destroyed the place" is an over exaggeration; what do you mean by that? |
When a team that gave up assets to acquire Rondo (with the hopes of keeping him as a free agent) suspends a player (not at the behest of the NBA), do I need to tell you more? |
I understand the management move and what THEY gave up to get rondo, which wasn't really much, though I don't get how HE destroyed the mavs. You haven't explained that part yet. Them suspending Rondo for 1 game isn't equivalent to him destroying the mavs - That's the reason I say the statement is over exaggerated.
Vet Tyson Chandler said he expects Rondo and the coaches dispute is gonna bring the team closer.

What I don't understand is that I thought Dallas was all about them analytics and statistics
yet isn't rondo the antithesis of that _________________ Kobe |

Yup. They overthought this one. It's pretty clear he contributes no shooting to their great spread offense. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

An excellent question Chron. Maybe they thought they could change his game? Maybe by using analytics to make him more efficient? Whatever the case they were better off without him
Scenarios I would prefer before giving Rondo a dime.
1) Giving Lin the max
2) Giving Price the max
3) Giving Marcus Banks the max
4) Giving Smush Parker the MLE |

Please no Rondo. His contract would have to be cheap for me to possibly want him. And preferably 3 years.
Regardless I don't like him as a player. Yes he can lead the NBA in assists by dominating the ball for 24 seconds every possession if he doesn't find someone open he will put up a bad shot at the end of the shot clock. He is very overrated especially defensively. He isn't the same player he was pre ACL injury and he was beginning to already be overrated then. |

He clashed with Doc repeatedly. He was very good then, so Rivers had to put up with it. Byron is actually the perfect coach for him. He's not a micromanager, doesn't believe in numbers, and loves grind it out, ugly basketball. |

So Kobe likes him.
Maybe Scott works with him.
Both Kobe/Scott likely gone after next season.

I agree Rondo is the most likely big name free agent to come here.
I really wish we would not go that route in free agency.
My preference is a big-man in the draft, then a reasonably priced vet. PG and SF.
Really, if I could have Calderon or Rondo on a 3 year $24 million deal I would take Jose. If I needed one of them to hit a 15-24 foot shot with a second on the clock, I'd take Jose. If I needed one of them to hit 4 high pressure free throws in the last minute of a game to preserve a win, I'd take Jose. I would probably take Ramon Sessions again over Rondo.
I'd like to see us put the future in Clarkson, give him a good steady backup at PG, and use our money at other need positions.
Even if the Lakers decide to go PG with our top-5 pick, then I'd go with a bigger name SF and keep Hill at center for the year. |

Lakers Rumors: Rajon Rondo

Very talented, injury prone knucklehead. Do I want him? Nope. Will hesign here? Yes, IMO. 4 year 15 million dollar deal. |

Not if they can "Jordan Hill" him in contract negotiations. I honestly have no idea what other team would want him. |

Sacramento, Indiana, and New York are the only other teams I could see maybe being interested. I hope we avoid him at all costs. |

He'd be a horrible fit in the triangle. Additionally, I don't think Karl nor Vogel would be interested in his services... |
