It's not JBs fault. He's a good player. The FO better not let him go after this. He's a keeper for sure!

He's a keeper but his contract has ended already, right? What kind of contract can the Lakers offer him right now?

After two ten-day contracts, a team can offer a minimum contract that lasts until the end of the season

Hmm, thanks. Hope we do it and then sign him for next season, til now he has been great for us as a role player. He reminds me a bit of Matt Barnes, tough guy, solid defender that can hit the 3 at a decent clip. It's a very small sample size but he absolutely won a place in the roster, imo. I'd argue that we've been pretty good picking role players lately. Tarick Black, Jabari, Ed Davis and Wellington this year, Young, Xavier Henry and Meeks last year

J.Brown should get the minimum from Lakers to back up Clarkson/Kobe. Lin is most likely gone, Nash retired and R.Price is not better than Brown (in limited sample)

Brown's nice to have around in case Swaggy P has one of those month long slumps. He's instant offense off the bench.

I've been saying I'd like to get Blue and Franklin with the Lakers in addition to Brown.

No reason to get Blue if you have Clarkson and until Lin walks away and if that happens Blue is probably last on the list, a Summer league invite most likely.

But sign Jabari Brown for the rest of the year, as well as insurance if Ellington left.

Mitch needs to pull a Hinkie if he decides to keep Jabari. 2 years at the minimum with a non-guarantee on that 2nd year.

Congrats to Jabari!

Is he the first "homegrown" D-league player to go from the D-Fenders to the Lakers?

Side note - I hope this doesn't end Nash's mentor-ship of Clarkson & Randle...

Lakers sign Jabari Brown to multi-year contract

The Lakers signed Jabari Brown to a multi-year deal while formally waiving Steve Nash, who officially retired last week after missing the entire 2014-15 season because of a chronic back issues. Brown will stay with the Lakers for the rest of the 2014-15 season and have a non-guaranteed deal for next year.

More likely someone will start a thread about how his signing negatively affects the tank.

Congratulations to the young man. He earned it.

Yep...and then mods will merge it into the tank thread.

I'm thinking 2 years at the minimum salary, partial guarantee.

Though this would be a pretty harsh April Fools joke.

Did you read the contract length...I put them in the first post and on this page.

Two years....rest of this season & next being team option.

Question....does waiving Nash open a spot for another player (Blue, Franklin or Smith)?

undrafted, 2 ten day contracts and then signed, nice 2k my career story...
i would definitely rather give him a chance than sign ellington, especialy if hes the cheaper option, plus he and clarkson are former mizouri teammates and that is a plus i guess, hope he does well
