I'm impressed with how efficient he has been so far. He's shooting 50% from the field and 46% from three. Smart move by signing him for next season. |

You can basically kiss Wayne Ellington goodbye. Much more reasonable deal. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Lakers waive Steve Nash to make room for rookie Jabari Brown
The Lakers waived Steve Nash to make room for Jabari Brown the rest of the season, a transaction that allowed them to take a closer look at a rookie while officially saying goodbye to an old-timer who never lived up to expectations with the team.
Nash announced his intention to retire last week but had remained on the Lakers’ roster. Despite getting waived, the 41-year-old will receive his entire $9.7-million salary this season.
Brown scored 22 points Monday against Philadelphia in what could have been his final game with the Lakers. His second 10-day contract expired that night, and the team had to decide whether to let him walk or sign him for the final two weeks of the season.
The Lakers also signed Brown to a non-guaranteed contract for next season for about $900,000. He will make just under $50,000 this season.
Brown, 22, averaged 9.4 points in 10 games since the Lakers plucked him from their Development League affiliate, the L.A. D-Fenders. He played college basketball at Missouri with Lakers rookie Jordan Clarkson.

^ Gilbert Arenas Provision:
Quote: | "The Arenas provision limits the first-year salary that teams can offer restricted free agents who have only been in the league for one or two years.
The starting salary for an offer sheet can't exceed the amount of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception, which allows the player's original team to use its MLE to match it.
Otherwise, a team without the necessary cap space or exceptions would be powerless to keep its player, like the Warriors were with Arenas."

Good scoring guard off the bench. Defense needs to improve but he's so good playing off the ball, should have been drafted. |

He has definitely been gunning for a contract. Glad it won't be rewarded. _________________ Kobe "I mean Phil's been here, and -- to be honest with you -- we might have, in all the years I've been with Phil, (had) maybe three defensive drills the entire time" |

Now if only we would cut Price and give Franklin a shot at the 3 over Wes useless Johnson _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

Fixed.
I've hated his selfish play...won't pass the ball. Let someone else have him! |

I'm sure Ellington is sitting there saying, "hey man, not funny, NOT FUNNY! but, if it's true, I'M JACKING 30 SHOTS A GAME THE REST OF THE WAY". |

wow... this is a message to all the other guys on the squad as well, MITCH... IS... WATCHING... MITCH IS ALWAYS WATCHING...
crap... these guys are going to go nuts now trying to prove themselves before the season ends, guys will be diving after loose balls, diving into the stands... there goes that lotto pick...
also, should we start taking bets as to whether Ellington EVER passes the ball again? He's going to be like Jordan Hill now, guys will be passing the ball, the ball is moving, then it goes into Ellington's hands and... everything stops... until he figures out a way to jack a shot... |
