Marc Stein: Coaching sources say Nuggets will take a long-term view on finding replacement for B-Shaw, but there are a couple key names to watch already. Former Nuggets coach Mike D'Antoni and former Nuggets guard Avery Johnson likely to be contenders for post. Alvin Gentry another strong name. At first glance I laughed at that notion since I was sure he'd never work in this league again but interesting enough he might actually be a .500 head coach in Denver. Some of his former NY players are there. With Lawson he'll finally get a pace PG.

PG: Lawson
SG: FA
SF: Chandler
stretch 4: Gallinari
C: Faried

And they have money to get some more chuckers. Hopefully he gets the job and grabs Sacre and Kelly from us.

that's a perfect fit for D'Antoni. run and gun has been Denver's style ever since the 80's, so why not going back to that, and they have the pieces to run MDA's sytem.

The team sucks, whatever coach you put in.
Gallinari never recovered from his injuries, losing his explosive scoring ability. He didn't paly any D before that.
Faried is a (good) role player.
Ty Lawson is above average.
Chandler is slightly above average.

The bench is hardly spetacular, and in the West it is tough to do much better than they have been doing.

But, one star player and they would jump up.

I mean, if it's a garbage team then it's going to suck even if you bring in a good coaching fit. D'Antoni would probably overachieve like he did with us, only to hear people talk about how much he sucked.

Longer than that. They've been run and gun since they were in the ABA.

I don't see him wanting to move to Denver. I think he's at the point in his life where he cares about where he lives.

MDA could work out nicely in Denver. But that teams got to stay healthy.
Specifically Lawson, Gallinari, and chandler.

They traded away a Center in McGee. But MDA doesn't need one of those in his offense.
