Lakers Get:
Wade(Free Agent after 2017-2018, frees up $20 million)
Butler

Bulls Get:
Julius
D-Angelo
Clarkson
Deng
2 Future 2nds
-------------------------------------------------
Nets Get:
Mozgov
Tarik Black
Houston 1st
2020 1st

Lakers Get:
Brook Lopez(Free Agent after 2017-2018, frees up $20 milllion)

2017-2018 Lakers
PG: Ball or Fultz
SG: Butler
SF: Ingram
PF: Bosh/Nance
C: Lopez/Zubac

6th man: Wade

2018 Offseason you have $33 Million committed to Butler/Ingram/Zubac/(Ball or Fultz).....salary cap will be $103 million so $70 million in cap to spend

Future Targets when cap space frees up are:
2017
1)Bosh(former Pelinka Client)
2018
1)PG13
2)Westbrook
3)Avery Bradley(Former Pelinka Client)
2019
1)Harden(Former Pelinka Client)
2)Klay
3)Lebron

All of em' have LA ties and no chips' except Klay........

Bron would come for the entertainment industry, to get as far away from Gilbert as possible, and ring chasing of course(play the 4).........obviously only some from the above would come....but I strongly believe the Harden's, Lebrons, WB, and PG-13 would all come for less than market value because out outside businesses that could make up for it and revenge on the Warriors......

I believe a handful of people in this thread called the Smelltics being good in the Leastern Conference fools gold. And now we are starting to see it.

Just add them to the long line of Leastern Conference pretenders that the media tried to build up as better than they are.

Reality check: the Least has sucked for nearly two decades now, ever since Jordan retired. With the rare exception of a couple of teams throughout the years that could hang with whatever team came out of the West (2004/2005 Pistons, Big 3 Celtics, LeBron's Superteams) it's been pretty much like this.

Whatever faults the Celtics team may have as presently composed, the bottom line is that they are better right now than the Lakers. That's the starting line. And looking ahead to the next three drafts, they are well-stocked with multiple 1st-rounders (at least two are sure-fire lottery picks, plus others) to address their areas of concern. Whereas if the Lakers lose out on a top-3 this year, they have only one other look at the lottery - next year.

There's no way to rationalize this in the Lakers favor if you don't suffer from Laker myopia.

Ennis and Black are better than these scrubs and that's not even close.

You know which teams were also better than the current Lakers? Iverson's 6ers, Kidd's Nets, etc. Just because you're a good team or even make it to the Finals out of the Leastern Conference doesn't mean you're actually close to being a legit contender. #FoolsGold

I'll take the Lakers upside over the Celtics.

This thread isn't called "most drunken uncle's named Sal who thinks Jaylen Brown is the next Paul Pierce" or "most domestic violence 911 calls after yet another first round exit," this is about the race to the championship. Ok, the Celtics are better than us right now, but here are some other teams who are better than us right now... the Clippers, the Grizzlies, the Raptors, the Hawks and, yes, the Celtics. However, do any of those teams, as they are presently constructed, win a title any time soon? No way, no how.

Celtics fans (and some posters here) talk about how stacked they are with draft picks and "assets." However, that's all we have been hearing since they traded KG and Pierce FOUR SEASONS AGO. The problem with draft picks is that they don't score a point, they don't go to all-star games and they certainly can't make a clutch shot when the only other shot maker on your mediocre team - Isaiah Thomas - is cold.

The other problem with draft picks is that they are only valuable if you actually use them effectively. So lets look at what the Celtics have done with all of their "amazing" draft picks since 2013 -

2013 (16th Pick) - Lucas Nogueira (traded)
2014 (6th Pick) - Marcus Smart
2014 (17th Pick) - James Young
2015 (16th Pick) - Terry Rozier
2015 (28th Pick) - R.J. Hunter
2015 (33rd Pick) - Jordan Mickey
2015 (45th pick) - Marcus Thornton
2016 (3rd Pick) - Jaylen Brown
2016 (16th Pick) - Guerschon Yabusele
2016 (23rd Pick) - Ante Zizic
2016 (31st Pick) - Deyonta Davis (traded)
2016 (35th Pick) - Rade Zagorac
2016 (45th Pick) - Demtrius Jackson
2016 (51st Pick) - Ben Bentil
2016 (58th Pick) - Abdel Nader

*To their credit, they used one of their accumulated first round picks to the Phoenix Suns (which turned out to be the 28th pick in the 2016 draft - Skal Labissiere).

So the Celtics have drafted 15 players in the last 4 years, and only one could even be considered a project with maybe all-star potential (Jaylen Brown). As such, if anyone is going to say "but, hey, they have even more picks in the future," well, you have to ask, based on their history, do you trust them to use those picks wisely? Look at the Lakers by contrast over the last three years (since LA started rebuilding) -

2014 (7th Pick) - Julius Randle
2014 (46th Pick) - Jordan Clarkson
2015 (2nd Pick) - D'Angelo Russell
2015 (27th Pick) - Larry Nance, Jr.
2015 (34th Pick) - Anthony Brown
2016 (1st Pick) - Brandon Ingram
2016 (32nd Pick) - Ivica Zubac

That's 7 draft picks, only one miss, one project who has all-star potential(Randle), two players who project to be all-stars one day (Russell and Ingram), and at least three players (Clarkson, Zubac and Nance) who have greatly exceeded their pre-NBA draft expectations already. Can't even compare the Celtics' draft success with ours. I'd take the top 3 players on our list over any player they've drafted in the last 4 years and I'd take Nance/Zubac/Clarkson over every other player they have drafted but maybe Marcus Smart.

Lakers clearly have been better drafting, Celtics have been much better in trades. Selling on Rondo/KG/Pierce gave them a big jump.

They have made two good decisions - trading Pierce/KG when they did and trading for Thomas. However, it still hasn't amounted to anything more than a middle of the road playoff team, which is the only metric that matters.

And the Rondo for Crowder deal. Compare that to the Laker deals over the past 3-4 years.

We haven't made any deals in the last 4 years of note, other than the Lin trade and the Brewer trade, both of which were good deals for us because we got 1st round picks for essentially nothing. We haven't had assets to trade. However, again, the point is that despite having all these assets, what do the Celtics have to show for it? Nada. For the Celtics, its always about what move they will make next because every move they have made thus far hasn't got them any closer to a title.

Even with the Deng/Mozgov deals, the Lakers have been much more effective in creating a team with eventual championship potential than the Celtics have over the last few seasons. The Celtics sacrificed eventual championship contention for immediate playoff contention. The Celtics have wasted their opportunities, while the Lakers, thus far, have made the most of theirs. I'd rather be where we are right now than where the Celtics are.

I find it amusing that some of you are trashing them because they play in the eastern conference. Getting the #1 seed is a heck of an accomplishment despite them playing in the eastern conference. They might not do well this year but they gain more valuable experience. This is their third straight year in the playoffs and this is our fourth straight year a lottery team.

Although the Celtics have been trading better than the Lakers, they made absolutely nothing out of it.
They have a mediocre roster.

Nope. You don't have a medicore roster and get the #1 seed. That's ridiculous. They are better than medicore but they probably overachieved this year.

Celtics have a regular season roster. This is not a contending roster in they playoffs when it's on the shoulders of a 5'9 player.

2 of 4 of these players will be Lakers in 2018 (LBJ/PG13/WB/Boogie)

What does his height have to do with it? It remains to be seen if he can be a #1 option player but he is going to need more help.

Harder to impose yourself over a 7 game series. I guarantee he will be wiped out by the end of this series.

Atlanta Hawks 2015. Mediocre defined. Un-ridiculous.
