Reminds me of when Pau was playing out of position, and how he was playing terrible cuz of it, then he goes to the Bulls and plays in the right position and becomes an all star again. Now I'm not saying he is good or anything im just saying it's kinda unfair to judge him when he's not put in a position to show his game. |

He probably projects out to an 8th to 10th man in the rotation. Funny that some were actually saying we got first round talent in the second round when he showed some promise last season. |

Horrible comparison. Kelly is a scrub extraordinaire. The guy can't shoot right in front of the basket. What does what position he is playing have to do with a 7 footer missing 5 foot shots that go over the backboard hitting no rim at all? |

Kelly is misused. Last year it was Wes playing PF, this year it is Kelly playing SF.
You want an honest picture of what Kelly can do - look at last year games. And remember he was a rook.
If he had been given a proper chance to develop at PF this year, we'd be saved of this hate Kelly gets. _________________ .

not saying Kelly is going be a star but he can be a legit role player to compliment Randle nicely. |

Ryan Kelly should not be playing the 3, he is purely in for the tank |

Kelly shouldn't be playing the 3 end of.
But the general consensus is that
"If you like the player that is played out of position. You blame the coach for not putting him in a chance to succeed. If you DON'T like the player that is played out position, you call him a scrub."
Rest assured, if Kelly was sent to some other team, put at the 4, and was lighting up Boozer who couldn't go to the perimeter to meet him, for 17 points there'd be several threads about how terrible of a coach Byron is and how stupid the organization was to let him go. Even if it was his only 17 point performance of the season. |

Which is exactly the point. Why does Scott not use him in a similar manner?
Limit his minutes if that does not work out. But on occasion when the oponents decide to leave him open - make them pay. _________________ .

Perhaps he should seek out a team that needs a the stretch 4. |

He even wears pukes number....
Again , all the stretch 4 guys In here who swear he would be better player. Can he guard a 4? Does he have enough strength or hops or anything for that matter. Some of you are delusional about his game , or lack there off. He will out of league in 2-3 years max. Another gem from Mitch. |

When Kelly starts hitting shots I will worry about him being out of position. Supposedly his biggest strength is as a shooter. But he bricks wide open shots. Big problem.
As a PF he will have issues in the paint. His role is limited. Perhaps he can be the deep in the rotation third PF for specific mins against specific teams. A good beginning would be to shoot over 30%.
I have little sympathy for his "plight". |

He's an NBA stretch four. He plays the four in the NBA, and it is a stretch for him to play there. |
Haha.
This thread is good. Title made me laugh too. Kelly does look awful out there. |

I can see how playing SF against the quicker more athletic SFs would affect Kelly on defense, but how does that affect him on offense? He misses wide open shots and shots over smaller guys. |

I think Kelly is still worth taking a look at provided he is allowed to play at his natural position. With that being said, it wouldn't bother me if he wasn't on the squad next year. We have Randle coming back, and I hope we hold onto Black. I imagine we're going to get another young, promising big in this year's draft, so there probably won't be room for Kelly to grow on this team next year anyway. |

Even before it was evident he'd had have a subpar year I was in favor of moving Kelly.
If we can get some one like Corey Joseph or Terrance Ross for Kelly plus our second this summer I'd strongly consider it |
