1. San Antonio
2. Golden State
3. Miami Heat
4. Dallas Mavericks
5. Houston Rockets

28. L.A. Lakers

Can't really disagree with this too much considering the recent past.

Typical ESPN garbage bandwagon rankings. I have no idea why people turn to that rag for actualy NBA content. The only decent place to get good information is Basketball Insiders.

Basically just took the team standings the last year or so and called it the "Front Office" standings.

(bleep) ESPN.

That said, our FO has A LOT of work to do. Let's start shutting the naysayers up already, starting this summer...please.

Yeah, has no bearing on anything, they don't consider anything that they've actually done or accomplished or attempted. Cleveland is excellent because they got 3 number 1 picks in 4 years... 76ers are #20 because they tanked?? I think Spurs is also overrated, the media seems to like to talk about how they were so good because all the foreign players they were able to pick up, but they conveniently forget the Lakers. The whole media's biased against the Lakers.

I'm not a fan of ESPN, but perception matters when it comes to signing FAs.

Seems like a pretty reasonable list to me. I'd definitely rank OKC higher though.

The Lakers also have almost everyone on short term contracts, and massive cap room for the future. The only thing I can see holding us back now are draft picks lost in the Nash trade, but I have faith that the Lakers FO knows what they're doing.

28 is pretty accurate. The last 2 years have been record setting in futility and we still owe 2 first round picks. Free agents have been dissing us lately. We can't hire good coaches.

This list, should have Jimmy Boy stepping down. I figured the hiring of, Mike Brown, Mike D'Antoni, and Byron Scott, would have done it....... but, I guess not.

I don't think out FO would rank high on anyone's board simply because it would be considered unproven without the old man. When we're back on track, the proof will be in the pudding...

I'm cool with the ranking and so should the FO for now...it should serve as fuel..

This FO lost two quality bigs without any compensation. They haven't been able to attract any quality free agents even with money to spend. Giving a cap killer contract to Kobe while still rehabbing from a career ending injury was insane. Can't even position the team to tank effectively in order to rebuild with a valuable high pick. Therefore, 28th is about right.

Last 2 years have been absolute garbage. In fact you can go back to 2012 so make it 3 years

Lost Dwight for nothing

Gasol left after being disrespected since like 2010 again for nothing. Could have had Rondo or Josh Smith (2011)

Asleep at the wheel last summer and couldnt get ANYONE worth a damn despite Jeanie going on ESPN saying that were still a top destination for players despite the fact no one wants to play with Kobe Bryant something that she shot down awfull quick when it realty its true. I didnt see Lebron, Melo or Bosh all lining up at Staples Center for meetings with the Lakers, They got Melo to agree a meeting but the inept FO couldnt close yet another deal and he returned to NY after seeing what a haphazard organisation this is although the same can be said about NY but he's from there so we will give him a pass on that one.

Hired 3 awfull coaches in that time, In fact scratch that go back to 2011 when Mike Brown was hired, Another disaster all on Jim Buss after players wanted Brian Shaw to take over especially after Kobe wanted to help with the coaching search nothing was done on that end for him or other players that wanted Shaw here, That was all on Jim Buss and has been documented since.

If they dont make a serious move this summer then IDK what will happen. 2 back to back 50 loss seasons with a Roster that doesnt even compare to Laker teams that we have had 5 or 6 years ago, A team that with Kobe Bryant that has ZERO help, A Coach that has been a complete disaster going all the way back to 2010 yes he's on his 5th STRAIGHT losing season.... 5th straight since getting the Cleveland job and a Front Office with a vastly overated GM IMO that is living off the Pau Gasol trade 7 years ago that doesnt fill anyone with remote confidence.

We make the most money, Charge the 2nd highest for tickets, Have an absolutle bumper deal with Time Warner yet none of that matters because the team is absolute garbage!!!

Fix it

Sounds about right to me. The last 3 seasons for the Lakers FO has been one disasterous move after the next. I'd have to think hard to come up with something that they actually did right.

How is this garbage? We have the 4th worse record this season. We have more losses than last year. Some people think that the Kobe's signing was terrible. We lost Gasol and Howard for nothing. Our coaches hires have been bad.

By looking strictly by the numbers, we are terrible. It is a snapshot of where we are at this moment.

I have no problem with this ranking. I wonder where you would rank the Laker's FO.

If we are not 28th, we are still pretty bad.

The whole process of their continual subjective "rankings" is just to draw suckers in. And this thread is proof it works. Their rankings mean nothing.
