FG% actually doesn't affirm that.

.307 this season.

Sacre for sure. he's style of play fits modern day NBA big men's game, namely set solid screens, play solid positioning defense and hit occasional mid-range jumpers. and you can't teach height, being a 7 footer, Sacre will be very easily find another backup center gig if he leaves Lakers. as for Kelly, nothing in his game impresses me.

A better poll question would be "who cares if either were out of the league today?"

Kelly should be thankful to MDA. He gets almost twice what Sacre earns. Guy sucks, he's another anchor on this dreadful team.

Sacre.

I look at which player actually fulfills his role. Sacre is a solid and active third string Center.

Kelly is a "stretch 4 " that cannot consistently hit his shots. Unless that changes he will be gone in under five years. He lasts that long because other then a 7 footer, no one gets more chances then an alleged shooter in the NBA. Even after the shot stops falling for a few seasons.

Shooting 35% from 3 is pretty solid for a stretch 4.

I guess my expectations are different. When I think stretch 4 today I think of Anderson and Bonner. Mostly one dimensional shooters. They can play a little defense, pass and rebound moderately well. But their primary reason for coming into a game is to shoot the three.

Since both of them are shoot over 40% I think Kelly is not comparing too well. Kelly repeatedly clanks wide open shots. That being said, I still think he should be back with the Lakers. Hopefully he can improve when used as a role player instead of a starter.

Sacre. At least he can defend some what, hustle, could be useful as a third string big.

Kelly just flat out sucks.

He won't improve at all with Byron as the coach. In hindsight the moment MDA resigned management should have looked to sell high and moved him. Actually I think I predicted his doom this season so it's foresight.

Kelly will because he can shoot. He would be a good backup to Randle at PF.

Kelly can't shoot, at least sacre can pull from midrange somewhat to help stretch the floor. Not to mention all the other awful things Kelly does

I'm surprised how many people have said Kelly can shoot in this thread. Apparently they are watching different games then I am

You want this scrub as our primary backup big man?

(bleep) no.

Kelly's contract is guaranteed for next year, Sacre's isn't.
So kelly.

I don't see either player securing more than a 10 day contract when their current contract runs out.
Both with be "old news". There will be newer, younger project players with their same skill-set.
That will push both of them out of the league.

Off the top of my head Robert Upshaw (a second rounder in this draft) could easily push Sacre off our roster for next year.
