As expected, Ed Davis did not like getting benched for no reason against the Nets and with him not participating most of the 4th through out the season.... Scott benching Davis will likely add another tension to this train-wreck season...

when is Scott gonna get fired? he really wants to lose the respect of the players only because of his dumb pre-game rotation strategy.... what a horrible hire...

Hell, I support benching Davis for the rest of the season, we need to keep the pick bad.

Davis has received more then the expected PT to showcase his wares. He'll get his $$ next year.

Byron is playing ball with the "tank scenario", he will NOT be fired. He is in fact "taking one for the team".

Who cares what he thinks? He's a role player playing for his next contract, the FO has at least trying to think about its future. Continue to sit Ed Davis and Lin.

I'd have a problem if he was happy with being benched. He'll return to the rotation soon enough hopefully in place of Sacre.

Glad we got the loss.
1 game closer to keeping our pick.

That's how I feel as well. Got to tank without actually looking like we are.

Will he give us a hometown discount to re-sign here?

Sit him down for the rest of the season. Bad attitude to have kid. Everyone has gotten benched here and there.

Sad part is it's likely Scott is just experimenting different rotations rather then taking one for the team.. And in the process creating dysfunction among the players.

There's really no downside to sitting him. Also prevents him from having a good game and jacking up his value to a level that we can't pay. If he really wants to stay in LA he'll appreciate what the Lakers are doing.

That's the best kind of tank coach to have. Hopefully our FO is smart enough to fire him when we have a team that has a chance of being good.

You have a bad case of confirmation bias on this one.

I can't think of anything we have to gain by playing Davis more.

Playing Davis less keeps his value down somewhat, if they are interested in keeping him. It also does the most important thing in trying to keep our pick. Damn guys like Lin, Young, and Davis trying to make a few more bucks next season and screwing the Lakers over in the process. Keep them and their contract year behinds glued to the bench.

Ed Davis a free agent. He's free to leave like all the other free agents that feel like they might not fit in or are unhappy, or find bigger paychecks on another team.

That's a political correct question, you are asking.... the reality is that none of this issue resolves around anyone but BS..... he is trying to lose the whole squad before the season ends... I would be shocked if these guys are inching to play here next year......

I would sit Davis the rest of the year...who gives a damn about team dysfunction. Half this roster is not coming back next year. I hope BS keeps playing Sacre, Kelly and Brown most minutes. Hill, Booz, Davis and Lin should sit out the rest of the year

Sit him out tomorrow along with Lin, Boozer, and Hill. If they are serious about rebuilding, that is what they will do.
