If the Clippers win this will be the biggest playoff win of Chris Paul's career IMO. Beating the defending champs when they are on a roll would be impressive. But I think the Spurs are going to win. They destroyed Miami and Portland, beat OKC and nobody has shown me yet that they can beat the Spurs. So why would I pick the Clippers?

I rather have the clippers win so they can knock out San Antonio...I prefer no championship experience going into the next round VS championship experience
That loss against NO might well wind up costing SA a chance at a repeat. Meant the difference between HCA in two out of three rounds vs none. For a team with that much mileage (not to mention already expending so much on a late season push - with nothing to show for it), that's big.

I see them running out of gas in the WCF.
When you add that in to that Game 6 choke against the HEAT, that really sucks. Duncan's career could have *finished* with a threepeat and he would be sitting on seven rings. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

But who knows if they would've had the same motivation for 2014. The loss fueled their record-setting playoff/finals run.
The draw couldn't be more difficult for the Spurs. No home court in any round. Clippers/Rockets/Warriors is their path. Mavs are usually a tough opp also, if rocket fuel is dumped. Going through one isn't the problem. It's the gauntlet of three. It's a tall order. Funky things can happen in the playoffs. Hot runs can vanish quickly (2012 Spurs). _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0
Hate the Clips and had the spurs as my preseason favorite to win again this year, but I am concered about the energy they've spent the last 20 games of the season, and the small injuries impacting them. The Clippers showed they could win despite missing Blake, and later Jamal, and having a weak bench. The bench isn't as big a factor in the postseason with the shortened rotations and Blake plus Jamal look healthy. Think it'll be a much tougher matchup than most think it will be. Hoping for Spurs but I expect it to go 7 with the Clips sadly winning. Really hope I am wrong though
What was that performance by the Spurs? The Clippers were playing harder and Tony Parker was garbage. Chris Paul dominated that matchup. Splitter is clearly not healthy either.

Key Spurs struggled, and the Clips came out to make a statement. Clips couldn't afford to come out soft and lose game 1 to the champs. DJ and Griffin really controlled the paint on both ends.
Expect a much closer game 2 with improved performance from the Spurs. They will not have the luxury of casually finishing series. 3 of first 5 games on the road makes unrealistic. 6 or 7 game series per round, ala 95 Rox. I'm cheering them on. KO those ugly Clips. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0

(bleep) Tim Duncan. If Kobe beats Billups Pistons and Boston's big 3 he'd have 7 as well.
I want anybody but the Spurs to win. The last 15 years was the Kobe era, not Duncan's. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Honestly I don't think Duncan cares whether it's called the Kobe Era or not. He, like Kobe, just wants to win as many rings as he can by being a contributing member to each of them.
2. Clippers
3. Whichever team Lebron is on
4. Houston
even this edition of the Celtics? i just don't get all the Celtic hate. sure we were told to hate them all our lives, but i feel i hate the Clippers even more, heck a lot more. i think Doc River is a piece of trash that's the common denominator of my Celtic hate and now Clipper hate. i feel i hate the Clippers far less when Vinny Del Negro was the coach.
