Clarkson PG, Brown SG, Buycks back up PG....
I'm always rooting for the underdogs....
Clarkson was the overlooked second rounder now with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. We really should be thinking of him as a prized first rounder rather than some type of reject.
Jabari Brown, from what I heard, never really got a chance during the preseason before getting cut. He showed he had potential in the D League...I am kind of thinking he also shouldn't be looked at as an NBA reject either.
Buycks has been around, but he has performed well...he seems poised out there on the court and confident in his skills...yeah, he probably should be looked at as a "reject"...but I like him and hope he makes it with the Lakers.
Clarkson needs to work on his outside shot during the offseason. I am very happy with his passing.
Jabari Brown seems more like a scorer rather than a pure shooter. I had always hoped the Lakers could pick up a pure shooter type....Is Jabari considered a pure shooter? Maybe he can work on it a little during the offseason. How's his defense been? I know he might be a little short to guard opposing 2s.
Buycks seems like the best shooter of the bunch....and he also looks to pass first. How's Buycks defense? Is he quick enough to guard PGs? Isn't he like 6'3"? He seems poised and confident out there.
I was a big Lin supporter when they first pick him up, but soon grew disillusioned of his playing style after I started watching him play.
Can this trio take the Lakers to the post season? Maybe Kobe can play that Ron Harper role and be a guiding hand?
I appreciate your optimism, but ... nope. They all seem to be decent players, but I think only one of them is destined for a career as a real contributor on a good team.
On a playoff team buycks and Brown would really struggle to guard anyone because they are both midgets. Imagine them trying to cover harden or Thompson.

Sadly this. It's Andrew Godlock all over again with those two, unless they manage to develop their games an insane amount this summer.
Hopefully our guards of the future are Clarkson and Russell.
If our current guard lineup is our future, we're in trouble. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest
Talk about a bit short-sighted. If by "future" we're talking about the last 3 games, yes (not last 2 remaining since Buycks is done). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
I was not too impressed with Vander Blue last night.
I still like Clarkson, Jabari Brown and also Buycks....but if the Lakers can get Russell that would be even better. Two star guards (hopefully someday) and two under rated back ups.
For a fan base that used to roast Derek Fisher it's funny to see scrubs (minus Clarkson) be considered part of the future. These guys couldnt touch even Smush's jock. If this is a possible backcourt of the future, this franchise is doomed.
After watching Jabari play these last several games, it just looks like he could be a very productive 3-and-D player if you have him in a system that helps generate open looks. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.
If Jabari is your starting 2 I don't think you're contending. He is a decent enough backup 2, he can get buckets. I don't think he's good enough defensively.
Some of you see him as a 3+D? I'm not convinced that that's his archetype as his strength seems to me to be getting to the rim and drawing fouls, more of a slasher/scorer than a 3+D
Brown has shown some side-ability to rack up assists and in particular really draw fouls (good upper body strengths, and he's always drawn fouls at the college level as well). I actually think his bet is to an undersized mutual exclusion type offensive player (3's and free throws). Those are inherently valuable. He kind of reminds me of Eric Gordon right now (you know, the unathletic version). I kind of question his overall gamesmanship skills and he's a very poor rebounder and stealer, and a questionable defender, but there are a few role player things to work with. I didn't think he was a NBA player, but I think he deserves a shot since his mutual exclusion stuff isn't all that common.
