Pretty much yeah. And the Thunder FO have nobody to blame but themselves.
They could have had a real great dynasty with Westbrook, Harden, Durant and Ibaka. But instead of wanting to win championships, they took the cheep route. |
All they had to do was amnesty Porkins. Unbelievable |
I know right? They literally chose Porkins over Harden. |
And although their reasoning was more about money, it's also a cautionary tale about getting rid of young players too soon as well. |
It's why I'm constantly on LG telling folks that trading away guys like Clarkson and Randle or the top 5 pick is the biggest mistake you can make in this rebuild.
Unless we traded one of them for Anthony Davis or something, but pulling an OKC will hurt this franchise for the next decade. Or half a decade at the least. |
Trading them to save money, sure, that would be a mistake. Trading them for established vet stars is something entirely different. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

They were counting nickels and dimes when they should've gone all out to win a championship with a loaded roster. These opportunities don't come up very often, but I guess thats why they are in the situation they are in now. |

Not even a three man team.
They gave up Harden, AND Jeff Green.
Russell Westbrook
James Harden
Jeff Green
Kevin Durant
Serge Ibaka

Exactly... I feel Kobe (nh) on that though. Those are the same cocksuckers that wanted to talk about shot selection and his 1 assist after dropping an 81 point game against a professional basketball team.... 81 POINTS SMH _________________ Whenever the Lakers benefit all of a sudden rules need to be changed and trades need to be blocked.

Not that I've seen, and no one ever really blamed Kobe for it either unless he shot for a really low percentage and the team lost. |

Yeah no team is making the postseason in the West with Jordan Hill and Wes Johnson as starters.
Love would be the only bonafide floor spacer in the starting lineup while also being a huge defensive liability.
Still zero rim protection.
No need to trade anything for Russell. Just allow to him to sign in a couple of years, but trading our two top assets makes no sense. |

Dammmmmmm. Kobe really going off on Twitter. I freaking love it!
@PaulBrahan
@kobebryant lbj has yet to prove he can win a championship without 2 other superstars
@KobeBryant
Lbj doesn't need to prove that @PaulBrahan I had Shaq + Pau Mj had Pip Magic had Worthy + Kareem etc AND we all had great teammates
@KobeBryant
Media critique- Mj was a gunner Magic was a coach killer Shaq wasn't serious Lbj couldn't handle pressure Spurs r too old #BeforeRings |

Not sure that's even possible under the salary cap, since most of our available cap space would be going to Russ in that scenario with Randle/Clarkson. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

PREACH. We can wait for Russell, Durant, Conley and in the mean time develop JC, Randle, and the top 5. It's not complicated |

If there was an offer on the table to get Westbrook for Randle or Clarkson + Lakers first rounder (+ Hill to help with salary?), you do it.
And if L.A. can sign Love, trade Randle. Otherwise, keep him. No brainer. Why sit and develop a guy (Clarkson) that may never get to Westbrook's level when you can get Westbrook in his prime?
I doubt OKC makes that trade though. |

I doubt OKC makes that trade though. |
1) Because Westbrook will be available without trading anyone in 2 seasons
2) Because Westbrook himself is not enough to propel this team into contention
3) Because Westbrook and Love are not enough to propel this team into contention
4) Because Westbrook has had multiple knee surgeries and is reliant on his athleticism to be effective |
