And why did Scott play Kobe 34.5 mpg (which would have been higher if not for the reduction of minutes closer to the end of Kobe's season).

| I'd imagine that this is a function of analytics. There's some tipping point where it's better to have a lesser player out who's fresh rather than a better player who's tired, and that place is probably sooner than we've thought it was. Most other sports have shortened the amount of snaps, pitches, shifts, etc. that players play. |

That makes sense. If you leave it up to the players, they'd generally prefer to play more minutes rather than fewer minutes. |
