When they had JC address the fans before the game I wondered why Kobe didn't do it...so I looked closely at all the suited players on the bench and Kobe was the only one missing! |
He's too good for this (bleep), KL. And if I was Kobe freakin' Bryant, and I was rehabbing from an injury that's going to keep me out until October, I wouldn't waste my time and energy watching a glorified D-league game either. Harsh, but it is what it is. |
Sorry, I don't agree at all. He needs to show support for his teammates and the loyal fans. |
I agree with that, but at the same time, he HAS attended games recently too. Plus, he's stated that Randle and Clarkson, and I'd assume our top 5 pick, will be working out with him this summer. Not showing up tonight doesn't really matter IMO. |
We disagree. I'm glad he's going to work with Randle and JC this summer but as long as Kobe is still a Laker and taking his huge salary I don't think it is too much to expect him to show up to the final game and thank the fans at Staples & those watching on TV for their support /loyalty and say he's looking forward to next season. By the way, he only showed up for the other games because BS told/asked him to...it wasn't Kobe's idea. I'm surprised he wasn't pushed to address the fans tonight by BS and/or Jeannie. I also think they should've given the fans a giveaway gift tonight for hanging with the team til the end. |
I guess so. I mean, a speech like that would have been great, but it wasn't really necessary either. I think mostly everyone wants to forget that this season ever happened and move on. Acknowledging fan support is terrific, but at the same time, fans don't necessarily need to be "praised" for watching games, as bad as things have gotten. Loyalty to this franchise is what keeps us watching.
Fans DEFINITELY should have gotten a gift. And the entire fan base will hopefully get a gift with a watchable Laker squad next season

A shot made by Sacre ends the season. I guess it's appropriate. |

I really thought 2013-2014 was rock bottom. But THIS was even lower. Hope to hell it doesn't go down further. It can only go up from here, right? |

Kobe ain't gonna say (bleep) until he sees what his body can do and then does it in the regular season. His body has failed him three consecutive seasons now. He's not going to say crap. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

I think we are infinitely better situated now than we were before the start of this season, assuming we get the pick and Kobe and Randle can play at the level we hope they can. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”
