Young's exit meeting:

Kupchak: Nick, let's talk about your play this season.
Young: Naw naw naw. My name be Swaggy P yo.
Kupchak: Um, ok. I think we need to discuss ways for you to pass the ball.
Young: Naw man. I only pass to the bucket.
Scott: See, that's why you're on the bench.
Young: You jelly.
Scott: You can't keep jacking up fadeaways and contested shots every time you touch the ball. You keep missing.
Young: That's cuz I almost got killed by a dolphin.

Weird, I didn't realize the exit meetings were so short. I thought the FO might want some feedback on the coach and/or organization regardless of the player status (superstar, bench, role player, etc) unless their agents have instruct them to just give the generic answer or there are surveys in the lobby to fill out.

Randle is the only one from that list that I want back, next season. Nick Young would be difficult to trade, though.

I see Randle is the last one. For the others they may plan on the short version. Something like, "We thank you for your services. Good luck on your career..."

...and please remember to clean out your locker before you leave.

This is the first time I can recall exit meetings taking place before the season ends.

Wayne Ellington believes his shoulder will be healed in a few weeks where he can start shooting

Ellington said he hopes the Lakers bring him back. He has a lot of affection for Lakers given his season and support they gave him

Ellington on Scott: "Considering the circumstances, he did a good job."

Ellington says he and Scott are "more than just coworkers"

Wayne: "I flat out told coach and Mitch I want to be back."

Sense is that Ellington will largely favor the Lakers, but mindful that the market place is unpredictable for both sides

Ellington: "I'm actually a little bit nervous for the offseason not being able to be around guys."

With Nick Young's tough season + clashes w/ Byron Scott, I'm told Lakers will shop Young around this summer

Wayne Ellington said his injured R shoulder is "Feeling a lot better … getting better every day. It’s not something I’m worried about."

Ellington has a great relationship with Byron Scott that extends off the court, and credited him for his growth this season.

Ellington is a free agent; he told Mitch Kupchak and Byron Scott that he'd love to be back with the Lakers, but knows it's a business.

1/3: Ellington went through a personal tragedy w/his father being killed this year; said his teammates/organization were extremely helpful.

2/2: Ellington: "Everybody was so welcoming when I came back. It really helped me just get away and focus on something I love to do."

3/3 - Ellington is "actually a little nervous for the offseason not beign around guys." But people like Ed Davis will be there for him.

Ellington is very close to Davis, w/whom he won the 2009 NCAA title at UNC. Having Davis here was invaluable to Wayne during a tough year.

Mitch:"Bye"

That should be about it for 75% of these guys.

Glad it sounds like Lin wants to move on. The feeling should be mutual, it's a bad fit all the way around.

I sensed a lot less "I want to move on" than I was expecting.

While basketball wise he may not fit in perfectly with the Lakers or Byron's basketball philosophies, for the rest of his life there is no better place than LA. His family is local, and I'd argue that the Asian community here in LA is stronger than any other NBA location. And based on what I know of Jeremy, I think those things are huge factors. As much as we all think NBA players are solely about basketball, they are humans as well and if we think about it in terms of just choosing where to work, I have to think that to Jeremy, LA has a lot going for it.

Mark Medina on twitter (Nick Young exit):

Quote:
Nick Young: "This year was obviously a tough year & started off with injuries. This isn't how we wanted it to go."

Young said left knee is still in "healing process."

Nick Young said "there wasn't too much to hash out" with Byron. Young: "Me & coach are cool & on the same page."

Young on Byron's criticisms: "If he doesn't talk to you, he doesn't care about you. He wants me to get better."

Nick Young on bad shooting: "I blame it on the rim. The rim was tripping this year. I'll take her on a date & treat her better."

Nick Young said Kobe hasn't really said much negative to him in person. He said they mostly just talk trash

Nick Young maintained he's confident he will be back next year
