But .. but... who will hold the clipboards and tell the refs whether we're taking a full or 20 second timeout???!!! _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same."
He has seen better days. Thank you for your services Gary Vitti, but times have changed and you are too old school. Enjoy retirement. _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season
Vitti summed up the most turbulent season he'd witnessed.
"I've gotten a lot in my career that 'You're the best' and now I've even heard our sports medicine staff is not very good and it's our fault all this is happening," he said.
"I try not to let either one affect me."

He's had one of the best seats in the house for every legendary Laker game for the last 30 years. He's seen it all both behind the scenes and on stage. He spent lots of time and has been friends with most of the Laker greats. What an incredible life he's lived.
He knows the real story about just about every trade, injury, fight, and event. He's heard all the on court talk between the players in every Laker playoff game. I hope he writes a book or three. He maybe the only person to have such a unique and detailed perspective on the history of our favorite team, the coaches, and all that has gone on over the years.
I wish him nothing but the best. A new Laker era is soon to be upon us with Gary, Kobe and possible others retiring/moving on.

He's had a respectable career. Blaming and mocking him is fun and all, and honestly, I've partaken in that, but the recent barrage of injuries this team has suffered through over the course of the last 3 years or so aren't his fault.
Now everyone that made fun of him and complained about him I'd like to hear their choices to take over his position that are actually attainable. Something being "Phoenix Suns staff" name some of them that are proficient and known to be available.

I'll wait.
I'm really not that much of a bball junkie where I can just name trainers and assistants and personnel like that. That's the front office's job anyway. They decided to cut costs and let key personnel go, leaving Vitti to pick up the pieces. He owes his career to the Buss family so I doubt he's gonna speak negatively about any of that.
But he has been out of his element for a few years now... time to accept we're not in the 80's any more and get the right people in here so we don't look like the Defenders again at the end of next year. This lineup to end the season is freaking laughable. I'd go take a dump at center court if I was a season ticket holder at the game tonight. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same."
Hope the D-fenders' trainer Nina, gets a shot at joining the big club in some capacity. She might be working with the Lakers' summer league team in Vegas for the second year in a row.

Thanks for everything Gary!
Past three years? The guy has been screwing things up since at least Karl Malone in 2004. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
well I would assume that Seto would take over but like others have said, we are a franchise in transition. If we are to hold Jim Buss responsible for personnel moves, I think we have to hold Jeanie accountable for moves like this. We need to upgrade our staff across the board. Players, Coaches, Training Staff, etc.

If only the next trainer is so fortunate that the Lakers will stop depending on 35+ year-old players with a million miles on their odometers to carry their season, they'll get all the credit for keeping the players healthy.
