MJ - Bird - Magic - Kobe

Not to be bias but I think Kareem should replace Bird

No Kareem? Come on Durant how did you leave him out of top four.

Because the media, led by BSPN has been feeding their narrative, and ignoring KAJ for so long that KD just doesn't remember him. The only reason he chose Kobe over LBJ despite the full court press by BSPN is that he's played with and against the both of them and knows what's really up.

I love KD, but not having Kareem on there is asinine.

The whole Mount Rushmore thing became a tired cliché about six months ago.

But stat geeks and efficiency aficionados across the internet have told me that Kobe isn't even in the conversation of the top 15 players of all time. Am I really supposed to value the opinion of some nobody like Kevin Durant, who's only a former MVP, scoring champion, and a guy who has been to the NBA finals over theirs!?

Depends on how much you align with the idea that Bird > Kareem.

I have a sneaking suspicion these quotes would be different, if Kobe wasn't on Durant's list.

Durant and Westbrook for 2017. Oh wait, we'd still miss the playoffs.

I would still think it's an arbitrary number. Why not a Top 5, which would make much more sense in a basketball discussion? I guess it's a fun thought exercise to force someone to pick a top 4, but it guarantees an "unforgivable" omission. Because Kobe is on it, we're okay with it...except, where's Kareem??? Mount Rushmore should be 3 Lakers + MJ!!

It would be interesting to poll the players on whether they know where the actual Mt. Rushmore is.

Just curious. Has any notable person come out with a Mt. Rushmore that didn't include MJ?

Other than MJ, are there players are basically on everyone's rushmore?
