So... With the Lakers out.. Who are you rooting for in this year's playoffs?

I'm Cali all the way... so Warriors and Clipps in the West.

East: Brooklyn (...mom born there)

I come from a long line of Pelicans fans. My dad was a Pelicans fan. His dad was a Pelicans fan. My grandmother and great aunt Phoebe were also Pelicans fans. It's a tradition we are very proud of.

Is this post supposed to be a joke? Pelicans has been the official name of NO for 2 years. New Orleans has had a team for like 12 years. If you meant a Hornets fan then your family should be Charlotte Hornets fans shouldn't they? I don't get it.

Warriors, Hawks, Grizzlies, Bulls. I don't think any of them are making the finals, unfortunately.

Anybody but Lebron, Dwight and the Spurs, although if push comes to shove I'll root for the Spurs over the other two.

to be quite honest, i'm rooting for LeBron and the Cavs this year. without D Wade, this LeBron team is much easier to root for. besides, if Cavs wins title this year, most likely they will keep K Love so Lakers won't have to piss away their hard earned cap space for him. following are my gripes against all other favorites:

Warriors: hate the way they treated Mark Jackson, hate the smirk on Kerr's face acting like he's a world class coach, in reality he is just being lucky. don't like Steph Curry's cocky attitude when he's been underperformed the last two playoff series losses.

Rockets: Harden, Howard, enough said

Clippers: well, enough said

Spurs: see above

Bulls: don't like the fact Pau mailed it in the last few seasons with Lakers (even during Phil Jackson's final season), and now all of sudden is playing aggressive basketball again with Bulls.

note i didn't include Memphis and ATL, to me those are your typical regular season champs, once the playoffs starts teams with any star power usually won't go too far, unless when you play the Lakers ('04 Pistons)

I guess the Warriors, but really any team without El BJ.

Well, maybe not Houston

Would be perfectly fine with Warriors, Hawks (not happening), Bulls, or Memphis.

As long as SA, Houston, CLE, and LAC wind up crashing and burning at some point, I'm happy.

He was obviously being sarcastic and I thought it was pretty funny.

For some reason this thread topic kind of bothers me. A backup team? Not sure why but the words "backup team" bug me a little. I understand the idea of trying to root for certain teams, but nothing comes close to having your own team win it.

I don't want Pau to win anything without Kobe.

I'm also hoping to see Houston and Cleveland fail spectacularly.
