What do you guys think about that?

Bobcats desperately need shooters, and that's what Swaggy does best. They also have no need for Lance Stephenson, whose stock is at an all-time low. He has 2 years remaining after this one, with the 2nd year a team option. It would be like a 1 year rental to get a better pick. It will free up even more money after next year when Kobe comes off the books.

Here's how it breaks down.

Lakers outgoing: Swaggy P + future 2nd rounder, protected 31-40
Lakers incoming: Lance Stephenson + future 1st rounder from Charlotte, protected 1-14.

I would. I would even do it without the pick. Young's deal runs for one more year than Stephenson's so more cap space in 2016. Doubt they would do it if they have to give up a 1st.

Absolutely. But we'd probably have to give up the Houston pick to get Charlotte's pick.

Young for Stephenson straight up is enough.

Charlotte would never do that. If you think Stephenson's stock is low, take a look at Young's.

You can't call someone a shooter when they're below 40% from the field.

Philly will also have Cap Space and they have a plethora of future picks.

I would expect Philly to make a more favorable offer if the Hornets are going to include a First Round pick (Protected 1 - 14) to move Lance's contract.

Then Charlotte could make a separate decision on a possible trade for Nick.

They could spin it and say "well Swag isn't working out for us, Lance ain't working out for you, let's swap and see what happens."

Then again this is our FO. The deal would probably end up being Clarkson and our 1st for Gerald Henderson.

I trust the FO more than I do 99.9% of the folks who post here. If I actually listed all of the crap they suggested in terms of trades, draft picks and signings in one place they would be humiliated if they had any pride.

Yeah I don't think Charlotte would give a first for swaggy either..

But I just thought of another proposal that could work: Swaggy P + Hous 27th pick for Taj Gibson.

This trade is like trading crap for throw up.

Lets trade Swaggy after he bounces back next year. Otherwise we're going to get horrible value coming back.

Hell yeah I'd do it. Lance was a terrible fit for the Hornets but he's still only 24 with the potential to be a 16/6/5 guy with the right team.

No one would give us a pick for Nick Young.

I would only do it for the pick.

How?

Lakers get a first plus a young two way player on essentially a 1 year contract. Yes, the player is a headcase but he has talent on both sides of the court.

Lakers get rid of a one dimensional clown on a long term deal that's going to be on the wrong side of 30. If Young was a good veteran presence and mentor, I'd say keep him. However, he's just as immature as he was when he came into the league and he hasn't improved. If anything, he will continue to regress.

The Lakers would have to throw in a pick for someone to take Young. Just like the Rockets had to do with Lin.

Lance is a fool and so is Swaggy. Lance is 24 and has shown he is a beast in the playoffs. He was carrying the Pacers during their playoff runs. Swaggy is a fool as well but hes 30 and plays ZERO D. I would make this move and possible salvage Lance's career with us. He was one of the top free agents a year ago and Swaggy is just a gunner. Worth the risk imo
