Would really like to get him with the 2nd rounder. It makes sense for SA imo. They get the cheapest player out of it, and it will be a young guy that can ride pine for a couple years. They want Aldridge anyway, that is the end game.

It would be a steal to get a Top 10 defensive big man in the NBA for a crap shoot 2nd round pick who likely won't end up having the Impact Splitter has when he's healthy.... so hopefully the Lakers can work out a deal.

Omg the amount of missed chucks between Jennings and Kobe. Lol

Jennings is an overpaid backup, pass

But if DET wanna send him with a 1st I'll take him if we strike out and do a Lin type deal again.

I'm on the fence if they stretch Swaggy. West never let pride get in the way of correcting mistakes he made (Doug Christie, adios), not sure about Mitch and Jim.

What has Kobe's career come to that in his final years he would be starting with basically 3 rookies while Duncan, Dirk, and Pierce all making the playoffs with solid teams.... Ugh

It's Kobe's time to retire. The Lakers need to rebuild for the future, not the past, but the cap space will help...

Kobe can still play... He can be what Pierce is to the Wiz. Ya he's not what he was but he deserves to be in the playoffs RIGHT NOW!

Thing is he has no team behind him and won't have one unless he decides to move on elsewhere; all Pierce to your point. It's not happening in la la land for him...

He will very likely retire next year especially if he's not productive compared to his usual self, so I don't think we "NEED" to have him retire next year.

Emm, what's the difference? Either way, he's probably playing his farewell season...

Maybe with a healthy Randle and affordable back up PF Tariq Black, we can free up Jordan Hill $10 mil salary for a good back up C (assuming we draft a C and sign free agent SF or vice versa)... who can we get?

PG Clarkson/Jabari brown
SG Kobe/SwaggyP
SF tbd/wes Johnson/R. Kelly
PF Randle/Tariq black/R. Kelly
C tbd/tbd/Sacre
plus 2-3 min salary players

No shooters but best defense

Which is stupid because you can't win with just defense. Somebody needs to space the floor.

I dont see my suggested line up as stupid. What other line ups proposed on here show such a great shooting line up?

I think we find a way to get rid of Young to free up 5m in cap.

Sign :
- Brook Lopez - he fits the pick n pop/roll that Scott admires. He has a good mid range and post game.

- Demare Carroll - he brings that 3D wing we've been missing.

- Sergio Rodriguez - bring him over from Spain. He's much improved as a true point guard. He'd be cheap

I like this idea but I don't think Sergio is available. Real Madrid pays him almost 2 million euros a year which is comparable to 5 million in the NBA.

Not even 2.3MM USD, in fact I'm sure it's even after you account for European taxes....but I'm glad you think you know what you're talking anout.

There's a lot here I don't agree with
But in my opinion, I would not want another lineup where Wes Johnson is our starting small forward. I won't have a problem with him being a backup, but I can't stand another year of him as our starting SF.

The only way I'd consider starting Johnson is if we can improve the rest of the starting lineup by signing Dragic and drafting Okafor or Towns.

In that lineup he would only be needed to play defense and hit threes and be a solid role player.

I'd love to have this team next season. Although I'd want a good defensive SF like Aminu or RHJ and move Clarkson to the bench.

Isn't Aminu on a 2 yr with Dallas?

Laker draft picks: WCS, Norman Powell, Andrew Harrison.
Royce White is added to the Summer League squad and sticks.
Lakers whiff on big name restricted free agents and use the money to sign Rondo to a one year deal (not my preference, just a prediction) and reach back into Byron's former player list and adds Richard Jefferson.
Andrew Bynum returns to the league from his one year hiatus and signs a team friendly deal.

Clarkson/ Rondo/ Harrison
Bryant/ Powell/ Brown
Randle/ Jefferson
Hill/ Kelly/ White
Bynum/ Cauley-Stein/ Black/ Sacre

A better scenario would have the Lakers sign Dragic instead of Rondo

Dragic/ Clarkson/ Harrison
Bryant/ Powell/ Brown
Randle/ Jefferson
Hill/ Kelly/ White
Bynum/ Cauley-Stein/ Black/ Sacre

I can't do this. I keep having to write "Rondo," and it just depresses the hell out of me.
