McAdoo was a breath of fresh air coming off our bench if there ever was such a thing. He took over for Mitch after the injury. It was another coup by the FO, picking up a "floating" player a la Mychal T later (bad fit on SA). One a former MVP, the other a former 1st pick.
I remember being so happy when we got McAdoo. Watched him in his younger days in Buffalo with Ernie D at the point. McAdoo was a stretch 4 who could shoot like Curry. Seemed like he would not miss from long range (before the days of the 3 pt line).

The man did a great job defending the paint too. Excellent shot blocker. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0

Hey now, he played physical in practice, carried bags, grabbed the Gatorade. Lucky charm.
There's quite the segment on him on the '87 home video. Always got a kick out of it. Now every time I think of the '87 team, Smreck comes to mind haha.

He and Mychal T appeared to live in the same apartment building, they were probably homies. Mychal with his TV remote and soap operas. Too many coconuts hit him on the head. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!

Smrek also ordered lots of room service. Probably on the team's dime. BOSS
What post-1970 championship team had two Hall of Famers come off the bench for at least half the regular season games?
Good question. Gonna try to do this w/o any 'net help. Was Parish one of these hall of famers, by chance? _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0
Think I got it actually. If Mourning and Payton are both hall of famers.
And Mike Doleac. A future HOFer.
I was initially thinking Parish and Toni K. Toni will get into the HOF someday if Sarunas did.
True. Although Wilkes and McAdoo are both in the Hall. I guess one of them just missed satisfying one of the trivia conditions in 1984-85. This is basically correct, though.
It's actually difficult to find two HOF guys that came off the same bench for any team. Other than those 60s Celts. I agree with you on Kukoc, he'll prob get in one day. So Parish and Kukoc counts too. If Lakers won in '83, Worthy and McAdoo might have counted? _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0
I was too young to remember anything before 86-87 so I'm not really qualified to comment on older teams, but since 86-87 I'm going with 99-00. Tough, savvy, trustworthy, clutch vets.

Then this happened (below). Nixon was injured or gimpy iirc. Matter of fact I think Bob was gimpy too, CabinCreek44 described 83 as one of those knick-knack injury seasons. I have some of the games (non-kjbleu's) against Portland and SA which were classic Showtime performances, but that Sixer team was a buzzsaw with Moses. He was Kareem kryptonite. I got Moses as the most underrated player of his era, 2 MVPs or not. He's just simply not talked about, not really a surprise why, though. He was the Duncan of his day personality-wise, probably saying even less than Timmy. He worked Kareem in that 81 miniseries too, 38/23 in HOU's Gm 1 win.

There are 11 championships in LA Laker history. Which one of these championship squads had the best bench? There is only room for 10 entries on the poll so I combined 2008-09 & 2009-10 seasons as one entry. The only difference in the bench in 2009 and 2010 was Sun Yue who was on the team in 2009 but was not on the team in 2010. I have provided a list of all the benches for all 11 teams. Let the games begin!
