Robert Downey Jr full interview: star walks out when asked about past

LINK

I think Downey did the right thing. IMO the reporter went overboard going into Robert's past.

I think he handled the exit with class, no brouhaha. Mentioned Diane Sawyer.

Kudos Robert.

Tony St---, I mean, Robert Downey Jr showed impressive restraint, IMHO, giving the guy a couple of chances to re-route his course from be a self-righteous, grandstanding, antagonizing weasel and sadly the interviewer was hell-bent on trying to make some sort of headlines and/or publicity for himself which, unfortunately he did.

Downey could have let into that voice-quivering coward and exposed him for the weenie he is, but chose to take the high road.

I know that being in the public eye is going to bring it's share of challenges but if you got the star power to bounce from an interview and still be respected and supported by the people that pay your bills, then do it. I am glad Robert exercised his power to do that.

He's the same reporter that did the same thing to Quentin Tarantino.

You see Quentin start getting pissed at 4 min point.

Krishnan whatever his last name is, is a hack!

Downey essentially DID do the 3rd and 4th things on that list, and when those didn't get the foolish interviewer back on point, he did absolutely the right thing by politely ending in the interview and stating why.

Yeah, he gave the interviewer multiple outs.

I love how the interviewer goes from his smug look to a "what, what'd I do?". Jackass.

I don't think he makes 50 million per movie. He made that for The Avengers.

I'm guessing those who voted for 3 and 4 didn't actually watch the video.

When he talked about his past could've been merely asking Robert about his roles in First Born, Weird Science, Back To School, and Less Than Zero. That would've been enough to piss him off.

Normally, I would consider that post mediocre, but on the chance you've seen Less Than Zero (all of it), then I know you're being sincere. Andrew McCarthy rolled his eyes about 117x in that piece a sh.

Quentin Tarantino didn't take the high road. He flat said "I'm shutting your butt down." That didn't stop the interviewer. IMO he's anal retentive.

Yeah. He's the interviewer equivalent of a troll. He's there as an entertainment reporter working a media junket for a film promotion and and he thinks he is suddenly Mike Wallace. Completely inappropriate.

He's clearly trying to press buttons and be provocative for his own sense of agrandizement at the expense his guest while pretending that he's simply asking basic questions.

My guess is that he's been trying to get a Piers Morgan type gig in British Television and is frustrated his role is really more of a Nancy Heart.

the interviewer is a smart man. He undoubtedly is a troll with his leading questions. He even has a devious smile when asking these questions.

I first learned about this is through the Facebook Trending section. The first item about it is that of the interviewer himself posting a video of the interview on his page. The dude wanted some kind of a reaction from RDJ.

Hey the more people troll celebrities the better. Easiest people to target with that method are the self-important types.

He even lays low to capture trust before he starts throwing fastballs at the 4 min mark. I found both of the interviews good for a smirk, which is obviously the intent. There are bigger travesties, though. I've always liked Robert Downey Jr, but I could still go for a few more of those interviews with selected celebrities, but at a certain point the troll professing his utter innocence gets a bit too much to consume (like coffee with too much sugar in it). Tomcat has been the victim of those kind of trolls, remember the guy that squirted water in his face?
