Dang you got my pipe meter going again

Lakers trade #1, #27, #34, Kelly for #3 and Gobert.

Draft Russell, max Middleton (15.5), re-sign Davis (5), re-sign Lin or sign Joseph (4), get Aminu for room

Clarkson/Lin
Bryant/Russell
Middleton/Aminu/Young
Randle/Black
Gobert/Davis/Sacre

Ok, pipe over

You guys do realize paying Khris Middleton his max is the equivalent of paying him around $11m in today's salary cap right?

Can't use our cap space to sign free agents AND use the room exception. We'd have to renounce all exceptions to be able to use our cap room

Ryan Kelly officially re-signs with Lakers

Quote:
The team had made Kelly a restricted free agent with a $1-million qualifying offer. Kelly will receive $1.65 million for the coming season and $1.72 million for 2015-16. Both years are fully guaranteed for a total of $3.37 million.

The Lakers appear to have used part of their $2.7 million room exception on Kelly, leaving $1.08 million to spend on free agency.

The room exception is for teams who use cap room.

$11m for Middleton seems really high TBH.

Not in my opinion. Elite as a 3&D wing. Definitely worth $11m in today's dollars

I think Middleton at $11m is a no brainer, but I'm not ready yet to call him "elite." But certainly I think there will be a robust market and the Bucks will likely have to match a deal close to near max for him.

not elite as in Westbrook/Anthony Davis elite. But elite for a 3&D role player? He certainly is

His competition is guys like Batum, Danny Green, Demarre Carroll, etc. I'd take him over all of them

Sure. I just don't like using terms like "elite" unless we're talking about the Kobes, Lebrons, Jordans, etc. of the world.

I think he's a top 15% 3 and D guy who is improving.

Since he's a RFA, a team will throw a near max or max offer to see what the Bucks do. In any case, Middleton is getting paid.

semantics

and yup it will take $15.5m to have a chance to get him. Which I'd try if we draft a C or miss out on deandre
