I Am Legend @oldmanpuck
@ArashMarkazi my houston people said Matt Barnes told Harden's mom to suck his ****. It's blowing up over there.

Classy fellow

Please explain why the FO should not be blamed for the current Lakers predicament, it certainly is not Barnes.

I don't blame the FO (and this is coming from someone who didn't like the $24M extension from day 1).

I blame father time.

The FO has had 20 YEARS to invent the fountain of youth and they haven't done it. If Jerry West were here Kobe would still be 25.

Barnes is hot garbage, btw. For every good thing he does he'll do something stupid. He's a fake tough guy, the kind that gets technical fouls but doesn't intimidate anyone. He's a streaky shooter that posts decent percentages but also spends long stretches throwing up bricks.

He can't be counted on because he disappears as often as he has a big game. He's the anti-Fisher, anti-Horry.

Letting Matt Barnes go is one of the most insignificant moves of all time. Thread is hot garbage. Microwaved, baked, steamed, BBQ - heated garbage.

Person they should have tried to keep was Trevor Ariza. Dude was perfect here.

Love these guys criticizing the front office based on hindsight. The hindsight at the time of the Barnes negotiations was he disappeared for us in the playoffs. Do not hold the front office to unrealistic expectations and you will be happier

They did.

It was Trevor and his agent's decision not to return.

I'll tell you what...if somebody said something like that to my Mom they'd be picking their teeth up off the ground. Even if I had to wait until I retired, he's got it coming one day. There's a line in the sand...and he crossed it!

1/8 on three pointers today. Rarely passed the ball. He sucks in the big games. I think second round is the farthest he has ever gotten.

I doubt James Harden thinks like this, though.

Barnes sucks the real outrage was letting Ariza go. He was the perfect wing compliment for Kobe and this team.

MWP wasn't bad either. If we were going to lose Ariza, MWP was the perfect replacement.

If you discount offense. Anyway, Barnes is a minimum player for a reason.

I know. MWP was awesome...and made a championship saving shot. What complaints can anyone have about him?
Barnes was great too. I think fans soured on him for no real good reason.
Ariza was good too, also made critical championship plays.

I don't know, I feel anyone who was involved in critical plays for championships, it's hard for me to lash out on them.

True. Not sure if 2010 bling happens if you take away Artest's defense on Pierce and mental toughness in Game 7 and replace that with Ariza (who had his own great run in 2009, to be sure).

As for Barnes - he always seems to come up small in critical playoff moments. He had a few clutch plays in the Spurs series, but overall he's been a posterchild throughout his career for decent regular seasons followed by playoff flops.

We didn't sour on Ariza...we were just okay with him being replaced by Artest after the way his management team handled the negotiations.

Artest was the reason they won game 7....he was the Laker that was their offense when everyone else on the team was on a slump.

Yep, at the time Artest was an upgrade over Ariza...maybe Ariza would've been better for the long term, but his agent wanted more money and tried to play Mitch and lost.

Barnes stepped up in game 7 against the Spurs, but in the other games his offense was garbage and I think the Clippers win that series in less than 7 games if he played better before game 7.

Without looking it up I think this is 6 bad games in a row for Barnes in this series. This was after 5 bad games in a row in the first round (before he had a good game 7).
