Jack and Jill, an Adam Sandler "classic" is mine. Why are so many of his movies so awful?

'Back to the Beach'

I got one of those free movie passes they use to pass out in Westwood back in the 80's, and I still ended up walking out 1/3rd the way through because it was so gawd awful.

Kung Pao: Enter the Fist. Worst movie ever. Only movie I've watched that was physically painful to watch as the one man dubbing all the voices created sounds that weren't meant for the human ear.

If it has a "Directed by Zack Snyder" card during the credits, you're looking at a Top 10-20 worst movie ever.

Second.

All my friends were raving about how scary it was so I finally broke down and went to see it. Aside from being incredibly boring, the constant shaking of the of camcorder made me so nauseous I had to leave the theater twice to puke.

A pile of rocks outside my tent? It had to be supernatural forces!

Interesting. I can see it not being your cup of tea but I think it's a very strong and unique movie that defined an entire genre.

Oh man that movie is too much fun to be considered bad. I recommend checking out the How Did This Get Made? Podcast episode about that movie.

Among big budget movies, Hudson Hawk is the gold standard for badness. Hudson Hawk makes Howard the Duck look like Citizen Kane.

There are any number of lower budget movies that would be hard to top, so to speak. I remember that there was a Paris Hilton vehicle (yes, really) that was supposed to be even worse than you would have expected. I skipped that one.

Here's an alternative question for anyone who is interested: What was the most disappointing movie you ever saw? I mean a movie that you thought was going to be really good, but wasn't. My vote would go to Phantom Menace.

Some movies I was greatly disappointed by...

Die Hard 5
Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions
Batman & Robin
1941 (love Belushi and Spielberg, but this one just missed the mark)

Some downright $h*t movies...

Judge Dredd 1995 (lots of potential as the source material is actually pretty badass, the new one actually does it more justice imo, but as any post Rocky Sly, it stinks)
Battlefield Earth
Godzilla (the 90s one, altho the new one kinda sucked too)
The Son of the Mask
Kindergarten Cop (why Arnie!?)
Sgt. Pepper and the Lonely Hearts Club Band (I actually have this just because of the cameos and because I'm a Beatles-head)

Batman and Robin is a classic example of why WB/DC is staffed with idiot executives. They lucked out with Nolan but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. 90's Godzilla was a waste of cast while the new Godzilla was ok. I'd throw in Pacific Rim and Cloud Atlas as recent disappointments.

Wow, I'm stunned. I'm usually on board with your sensibilities when it comes to filmmaking. But, I don't think there was anything strong and unique to that film other than it's ability to make people neasueous. It certainty was not definitive other than it garnered attetion for doing so.

Not a fan of blair witch, but i do think the advancement of the found footage concept was noteworthy.

Fwiw, i can't pick a worst movie, but inwould like to nominate anything made by tyler perry for consideration.

Only God Forgives.

Starred Ryan Gosling and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.

I really liked Drive and thought Bronson was good as well, but this movie was completely ridiculous.

Long, uncomfortable shots of the actors doing NOTHING. Strange dream-like sequences that went nowhere.. some Asian guy doing Karaoke for 20 minutes. I can't believe I sat through the whole thing...

It could have been if there was any attempt at substance.

That movie was all gimmicky and manipulation.

Not to mention that shaky camera work as a method of veracity had been covered by television long before.

Thee wooooorst movie I've ever seen with my own eyes...

I know it was a Straight-To-VHS 80's B-Movie but jesus christ it was god-awful... Never have I seen a movie more over the top bad than that one. Hands down.
