I've never seen the show but the clip of them calculating how fast they could jerk off every guy in the room had me dying. I'm going to have to watch now.

Glad something finally went right for the guys at Pied Piper. I was on the verge of not watching the show anymore - the story of a collection of constantly failing sad sacks was getting annoying.

The writers said they were focusing on that this season because them failing/getting screwed is where the comedy comes from. They said after season one they realized there isn't anything funny about them "winning". I agree they may have gone overboard with the failures this season though but I still have enjoyed it. The SWOT episode was great.

I totally get that. And their struggles early in the season were quite funny. But they went from funny to pathetic, and pathetic is neither funny, nor interesting. Glad they finally dialed it back a bit.

^Totally agree. Hate to say it, but Entourage had it right. Promise, failure, reclamation. That's the pattern that works. You want to root for the guys because they are underdogs who just need the shot to prove they are better. You need the payoff for supporting them eventually.

Richard's anxiousness is now transmitting to me, the viewer.
I'm wound up and worried something will go wrong when I watch.
But in fairness, something normally does.

Another episode of stuff going wrong for pied piper. You know at the end of the season, it all gets fixed, but this is getting tiresome. Obviously Richard saves Huli at the end of this season. I'm sure they merge or something. That's been coming for a while.

The comedy of errors for Pied Piper this season has kind of ruined the show for me a little bit. Still one of my favorite shows on any network tho.

It's still a very funny show, but as I said a while back, the constant failure is losing it's comic appeal and just becoming predictable and pathetic and thus uninteresting.

I mean that scene where Richard is explaining how it's a good thing that the Pied Piper algorithm can accidentally delete your database faster than any other algorithm is sort of fun to begin with, but when he starts talking about the Tequila bottle on the delete key, he just goes from being socially awkward, bumblingly brilliant dude to just plain idiot who deserves everything he gets.

Oh, and in regards to the tequila on the delete key. There was a moment when I thought they were going to do something cool and it appeared that Russ putting the tequila bottle on the delete key was a deliberate thing to make a point, but then it turned out to be just Russ being a the clueless tool we always knew he was, it was disappointing. Missed opportunity there.

Gilfoyle quickly became my favorite after this season.

And as for Amanda Crew (Monica). Damn, I'd love to plug into her USB port if you know what I mean.

This episode did not have any Jared liners, which makes it a weaksauce one. And Richard's character is getting annoying. I agree with DaMulesRules, they missed a potential comedic opportunity with Russ, whose been a very pleasant comedic surprise as of late, and the constant failures are starting to get a bit tiresome. And it's not so much that they're failures, but they're not really that funny. On the flip side, the Hooli failures have been hilarious.

One of the reasons the Hooli failures are great is because you want them to fail... you don't want Richard to fail. Road bumps are fine, but disappointment after disappointment just becomes depressing.
