A Simple question.... Ramona Shelburne reported today that the Lakers are gonna try to steal Jordan away from the Clippers..

If we give the max to DJ would the Lakers still have enough cap-room to bring in a SF or do they only have there room exception?

If we get him, then Jordan Hill's $9 million will 100% be optioned out. That leaves us with $26 millionish. A max to DJ would probably be something like 16-17 million in the first year (I'm guessing here though). We'd have to fill at least 5 or 6 spots with the remaining money (including re-signing Ed Davis). So there isn't much money left over if we signed him.

I don't really want DJ though. I know he's good, but I'm not that sure about maxing out a player who has huge gaps in free throw shooting and offense.

I hope it is just a ploy to lock up the Clippers capspace. I can't see paying him max with all that he lacks. I'd love to see him on the team... but not for max.

He's my no.2 free agent alternative at center after Marc Gasol.

I'd love to sign Jordan even if we do draft Towns. Last time we had 3 great bigs we won back to back championships.

I heard on the radio today that DJ is out. The relationship between he and Paul has been degrading for some time now and he will likely leave the Clippers.

Can't remember where I heard it but pretty sure it was Clippers radio.

But why would we care to play this capspace lock game? Are they competing with us for certain free agents? I think if an offer is made, it'll be because we want him.

It still all depends on the ping pong balls tomorrow.

Found this article http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2468569-deandre-jordan-chris-paul-reportedly-had-falling-out-during-season

Also from that article, I would say that Doc is not a very smart guy and should not be a GM. He shouldn't be saying that the team will throw a max and instead pull a Mitch and say "well, we'll have to wait and see." You have nothing to gain from divulging that information.

I would be fine with DJ Alpha; as long as there are other moves to bring in depth..... if the Lakers are planning to trade Young's contract then they need another scoring option off the bench.

I think everyone knows right about now... that the chances of Jordan leaving the Clippers is really high... the only question is where he's gonna land... it looks like the Mavs have all the edge right now...

If the Mavs land him, then maybe we can get Chandler on a 2 year deal, or something like that.

If I'm DJ, there's no better way to kick Chris in his little Cliff balls than to sign with the Lakers.

Yup. And he doesn't have to move, gets more endorsement $$$, and finally gets recognition

I wonder what the riff with CP3 could be.. maybe it's because DJ kind of lacks BBALLIQ? Remember the play when CP3 was jumping up and down like a puppy, because DJ thought the game clock expired?

I don't hate CP3 or the Clippers that much, but CP3 makes me laugh.. he's like a cute little dog. He's a scruff mcdoggy.

DeAndre is a 7 year vet, and eligible for 30% of the cap. His max will start around $19.9M with the current cap projection of $66.3M.

Maybe DJ is mad that CP3 gets all the glory but I believe is 3rd all-time in playoff games played without a conference finals berth. Or is it 3rd all-time among active players? One of the two.

As for DJ at $20M, no thanks, that's steep.

20M is a bargin right now guys. Once the cap jumps up to 90 million in two years, the max is 30m. Lock him up now for 20M and we will be saving a butt load for him.

It should certainly be offered. Not entirely sure why he'd accept it.

This. With 3 big salaries, the clips will have very little to address their bench situation. If they lock up Jordan at 5 years and then take Wesley, we WIN!

Their cap space is essentially already locked with or without DJ
