Tell that to San Antonio, OKC, Golden State, and Atlanta.

From my POV, Atlanta doesn't belong in that group.*

Horford....#3 - 2007
Millsap....Free Agent Signing (#49 - 2006)
Teague.....#19 - 2009
Korver...Traded by the Bulls for Cash (#51 - 2003)
Sefolosha....Sign and Trade from OKC (#13 - 2006)
Scott....#43 - 2012
Carroll....Free Agent Signing (#27 - 2009)
Mack....Free Agent Signing (#34 - 2011)
Bazemore....Free Agent Signing (Undrafted - 2012)
Brand....Free Agent Signing (#1 - 1999)
Schroder....#17 - 2013
Jenkins....#23 - 2012
Antic....Free Agent Signing (July 2013)
Muscala....Free Agent Signing (#44 - 2013)
Daye.... Free Agent Signing (#15 - 2009)

After eliminating those signed as Free Agents or traded for, that leaves:

Horford....#3 - 2007
Teague.....#19 - 2009
Scott....#43 - 2012
Schroder....#17 - 2013
Jenkins....#23 - 2012

Out of the five players that the Hawks have drafted and still have on their roster, Horford is the only Lottery pick and the other four players were drafted outside of the Lottery.

______________

The Spurs have already been discussed multiple times on LG.

It's still building through the draft. Three of their key cogs on a team that's made the Eastern Confence Finals were top 20 picks. That's clearly building through the draft when three of your best players are draft picks.

Earlier the discussion was about tanking with Atlanta being placed by you in a group with OKC and Golden State.

Now you have moved the goal posts to a discussion about building through the draft.

Right now there's a 16% chance that we draw outside of the top 5...sending the pick to Philly.

In this thread, please describe what your reaction will be. What are you doing to prepare for the nightmare scenario? What will be your first tweet/Instagram/Status update?

Personally if we lose the pick, I call for Byron Scott's head on a platter.

I'll probably pour a tall glass of bourbon, no ice and get wrecked. Probably roll a nice thick blunt.

Then I'm going to prepare some picket signs and heading down to Laker's HQ and calling for Jim and Mitch's head for botching the tank this season.

What will you do?

Classy.

Thon Maker needs at least one year in college. He under-achieved at the HS all-star games.

Ben Simmons and at least a dozen other players are ranked above Maker.

Probably cuss at my phone pretty loudly in public, since that's what I'm watching the lottery on. Then walk off cussing to myself, looking like a total weirdo.

I bet anything they lose the pick. In fact I am almost sure of it. That is just the way things work.

What would you like to bet? I'm getting great odds here. And maybe one of the mods can hold the funds in escrow for a cut =)

Be disappointed for a minute and then move on with my life.

I do not feel however that we are going to lose the pick so I'm looking forward to seeing what pick we get

Go into cognitive dissonance mode and say we'd probably draft a bust anyway.

Yeah, pretty much this. Except you missed

9b. See that the Lakers signed Rajon Rondo
9c. (See step 2)
9d. Drink heavily
9e. Rationalize to myself how maybe signing Rajon Rondo isn't such a bad thing

Btw, don't we have a 17.2% chance of losing the pick, not 16% as the OP suggested?
