Obviously from a money stand point the Lakers will be able to offer KD max money, but I didn't feel like from a team stand point we really have were that enticing as least more than his current team the Thunder.

Now I think that's changed.

Think of a lineup with Clarkson, Randle, Towns or Okafor, and Kobe will most definitely play another couple of years if Durant came aboard.

It'll still be his team and he won't have to fight with another alpha male in Westbrook. He'll get to lead a young, but very talented group of guys and play with one of his idols for a year or two.

Durant has never really played with a legit low post big man who can score on the interior and take pressure off him. In L.A. he'd be playing with TWO. Clarkson is nowhere near as good as Westbrook is obviously, but he's definitely a more natural point guard than him and he'll never have to fight Jordan for shots.

The Lakers will definitely be in contention for a playoff spot next year and with Durant they're unquestionably a title contender.

Clarkson
Kobe
Durant
Randle
Okafor or Towns.

That's been the idea the entire time.

Even if it's not Durant:

Clarkson
Westbrook
Bryant
Randle
Okafor or Towns

I agree
Also I think we should go for Love if we can't get the premier SF free agents

That will help us to attract KD OR Westbrook.

IMO Kevin Durant is the only player in the league that I put all my effort into. He can take you from barely making the playoffs to a title contender overnight!

KD is a free in 2016, essentially 1 year from now. We're not enticing him with two players coming off their rookie years.

The way to get Durant is star power now. He's not leaving Westbrook and Ibaka for less. Were either going to have to land a big free agent this year or trade the pick for Cousins. Otherwise, we ain't got (bleep) for Durant. Westbrook would be more realistic. LA ties and two years to show off our rookies.

He'll be enticed if those rookies play great and get us into the playoffs or close to it. If OKC doesnt win it all next year then it's time for a change for Durant and LA could be the best place for him especially with how much admiration and respect he has for Kobe.

time to calm down people....LOL

at least wait until Okafor or Town and Randle prove they can be stars in the league.

Remember most rookies or young player take couple years to have breakout year. We need them all have breakout years before KD, Westbrook or whoever we want become FAs.

Exactly. If he's damaged goods, don't need another NASH situation.

KD isn't getting excited about some rookie, what we do in free agency this offseason could be what impresses him.

Exactly. Not like these guys are scrubs.

They're all expected to make big impacts. By the end of next season Randle and Okafor/Towns will likely be better than anyone on OKC's roster not named Westbrook.

At some point KD has to reach a point where he realizes it's just not gonna workout in OKC.

The young ones are the side dishes, for now. Remember, we can max someone out this year, max someone else out next summer, AND have room for KD.

Durant has had one injury plagued season.

Don't be over dramatic.

Frontcourt of Towns, Randle, and KD would potentially be one of the sickest frontlines ever (if KAT and Julius pan out).

I've watched Brook Lopez struggle with this similar injury for years with the Nets. It's going to be a problem.

I agree with this. He is not coming here to play with nothing but sophmore players by this time will still have "zero" playoff experience. This is not a Lebron situation, KD is not from here. We are more likely to land Love this offseason imo.

I could really see KD going to Washington to play with Wall over Clarkson/Randle/Towns.

Durant is more Duncan then Lebron. He's not leaving Westbrook and Ibaka. We have Randle, Clarkson, and now our franchise center.

Not sure he's a great example of durability champ.

Difference was Duncan had won a championship already prior to being a free agent and even then he nearly went to Orlando.
